And it looks so cool--it's dark grey!
And it's made in Switzerland!!
And it costs $150!!
No Spyder!
Ovalized Holes!
AAAAaaaagh! I can't even!!

The sharpened bevel looks really thin...is it thin BTE or is the edge angle particularly obtuse?

Image
In keeping with the Mule tradition it should be the same edge angle as the rest of the mules

Maybe the choice of words should be “Material” and not “Steel”

I hope Spyderco gets the heat treat right🤣

I wonder how many got made… Drop will be tense for me.

My goodness it's beautiful, and it looks like it was def worth the wait. Thank you Spyderco team for making this happen... now I'm just going to have to figure out the launch date so I can take the morning off and prep for the online shopping adventures. I bet this one goes quick.

Sorry for the negative post earlier. I was in a dark mood earlier.

I’m super excited for this mule and just really hoping I can get one. FOMO is still very real though.

Is possible to get a very rough ballpark drop date so I can write it into my future budget and save up $?

First post on last page here just says 'coming soon'
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95655&start=120

I'm more interested in timing so I can ensure I'm not out of town, in the woods, or on the water when this drops. Ill have to train the wife up on website combat on getting an order pushed through as fast as possible 😆

I thought this day would never come :woozy

Thank you Fireman for launching this thread, and Sal for following up with a production version of the proto you were testing all this time.

At $150 maybe there won't be the intense competition? Or is that just wishful thinking.

My father always wanted a good ceramic blade, this looks like it’ll be the grail he never saw coming. Granted I can get one lol. Thank you Spyderco!

Is elastic ceramic as fragile as a normal ceramic blade? Meaning if it's dropped, it could break?

Anyone have plans to sharpen these? Brave enough to reprofile and thin out?
I will if I can get 2, make one thinner like I did to my Magnacut mule

I think the demand will be insane once the word gets out. I hope they make a ton of these. maybe 5,000+ but probably not likely.

I've been using this stuff in 3 kitchen knives for 2 years. Never had to sharpen them and no chips. It seems pretty durable for normal kitchen use. As for dropping it I guess it would depend on what you drop it on. I think linoleum would be ok, but ceramic tiles could damage even a steel knife. This stuff is flexible whereas normal ceramic knives aren't.

That's my fear too. Well, it won't be as crazy as the Magnacut Mule, but it's very possible that there'll be more demand than usual.

This Ceramic Mule is perhaps 50% more expensive than the average knife in this series... yet it's also a promising, complete novelty that people will be eager to try out.

I do hope Spyderco hasn't underestimated the demand for this one... don't let us down ! 🙏

I for one will buy as many as allowed... would love to be able to have a few for gifts. Have a buddy getting ready for a long deployment who needs a good lightweight blade.
