OT: Going to get Married!!!!!!!
Well folks, I won't be posting quite so regularly for the next two weeks. I am off to Toronto to get married. I can't beleive how fast the time has flown by, seems like I just proposed yesterday. It will go by fast and with so many things going on I will be hard pressed to get on the forum. I will try to check in though.
Hopefully my Dodo PE comes in tomorrow so I can take it with me on the long trip(about 16 hours from where I live) The knife that will be accompanying me on the big day will be my Bob Terzoula Alum PE. It will be getting a nice sharpening and cleaning/lube. Also I will have my Kiwi or Dodo(depending on the size and if I have gotten it) All my relatives were quite interested in the knife I would bring for the wedding. I choose the Bob T (as most of you know) because it is the one that started it all.
Well Take Care all and will be posting again in no time, married and all!
OBTW: Mrs soon to be CKE said that if I find a Spydie in TO I like I could get it as a wedding gift....O the possibilites!!!! Take Care.

Good luck and congrats! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Now, make sure to give her a coin for the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. Getting knives for free from friends threatens the relationship, as the story goes.

Hey, congratulations! I didn"t even know you were getting married.
You must love that knife a lot to take it to the wedding, and I agree...it IS a big decision about which knife to take.
I'm glad to hear she's promoting a wedding present that you'll enjoy; it's tough to go wrong with knives!!
My wife just let me order a Strider MFS for our anniversary (early, no less!!). It arrived today, and looks like a great knife.
I'm selling the first one, as it's just a little small for my purposes, but is otherwise a great knife.
I hope you're back on the boards soon.

Hey everyone!! Have arrived in Toronto safe and sound. What a long trip, it was raining and Mrs CKE HATES to drive in the rain so I drove 2 hrs Thursday, 11 hrs Friday and the last four today. I don't mind driving so no worries.
Thanks for all the posts I really appreciate it. Finally got my Dodo on Thursday before we left and except for sleeping it has not left my side, I think it will be taking the Kiwi's place in my left pocket of my tux.
First stop in Toronto was the knife shop and much to my dismay Mrs CKE has already gotten my gift...now I am puzzled?????????
Now on to my afternoon playing with knives. I have never held a Native(yes I know a major faux pas) but he had a S30V there and man are they a nice blade. Also checked out the Spots, are they ever small. I thought they would be about twice that size, still think that will be my next knife but totally surprised me on how tiny they actually are.
Held a Lil Temp with the upswept blade, awesome handle but not my cup of tea in blade shapes. I think the Leaf Lil Temp will be my second to next Spydie. What else, a Chinook, very hefty thought I would have liked this one more but found it really heavy and bulky. For that much weight the blade should be at least 3/4 of an inch longer. There is no doubt in my mind that you would be hard pressed to break this Spydie. Had a Matriarch, scary can't even imagine holding a Civi. let alone carrying one.
Others I check were a custom Crawford he had just gotten in this morning, a custom RJ Martin(had to of been the most comfortable handle I have put my greasy palms on) that another one of his customers had on him. Some other brands too, the new Harley Davidson United's, Kersham Steven Segal, Kershaw Double Cross, and the CRKT Rollock, but alas my funds just went to my BFC Spyderhawk and Dodo so I left empty handed and heartbroken. If I had $300 I would have picked up the Endura PE, Spot PE and S30V Native PE. Only $200 the later two and with only $100 bucks I would have grabbed the Spot on the fact that I could have smuggled that as a 3rd knife on my wedding day.
Well I hope you are all well and again thanks for all the congrats and hopefully I can get on again within this next week. Take Care!!!

I am wondering, among those who are married here, what knives have we brought to the church/city hall/temple on our wedding day?>>>
Funny story about my youngest daughter's birth (she's six months old). I'm standing there, in the hospital. The wife's being readied for the C-Section. The nurse hands me the scrubs to adorn myself with in the operating room.
I realize, at this point, that I have my 9mm Sig P228 on my hip. Hospital scrubs aren't exactly accomodating to that sort of thing, y'know?
So I'm stuck: either leave the pistol with the rest of our belongings in the room and hope no one picks it up and goes on a shooting spree....YEAH RIGHT!
This sucker is coming with me. So I unfastened my belt, put on the scrubs, and simply wore my leather belt underneath, with the holstered Sig concealed.
No one, except my wife, was the wiser (and I secretly had to chuckle). Our daughter was born as I stood by, well-armed.
A few days later, I told the doc what happened, that he was in the best-protected operating room in america at that time. Being an avid hunter and gun nut, he had to laugh.
I'd have loved to see the look on the nurses' faces had they know I was packing heat, ha ha ha!
