Hello, I have a few Spyderco knives with the smallest being an Endela. Looking for something smaller than the Endela in black with a black clip that I can comfortably wear in black work trousers without being noticable. Can be a current model or something older I can get used. Prefer a premium steel. Thanks for your help in advance!

Black Delica

Currently available, I would suggest a Centofante 3. In VG10, it's not the most premium steel available but would likely work well in slacks.

Discontinued, the carbon fiber Positron could be a good option. Although, it has a chrome wire clip.

My usual recommendation for any sort of office/slacks carry is any flavor of the Chaparral. In this case, the Black CF/G10 model sounds like it suits your needs. CTS XHP steel. Black wire clip. Very discreet.

How about the black blade, black G10 with the black wire clip Lil Native? S30V. I mean, come on...if your wearing slacks, how premium of a steel do you really need in those pants!

+1, I have one and that's the one I thought of right away. With the wire clip the knife sits low in the pocket, too. I have had people mesmerized by the weave of the carbon fiber on the scales when I've taken it out of my pocket and they do see it; they don't scream and run for the hills.

Chaparral 1 is the first thing that comes to mind for me

MXG Gear offers a few black clips and Lynch NW offers cerakoted clips in a bunch of different colors. So you can put a black (or other color) clip on most models.

DLC Lil Native

Any of the CF/G10 laminate models out of Taichung would work great with a black wire clip swapped in (you can call the Spyderco SFO for an extra black clip) — the Chaparral (as mentioned), the Ikuchi, or the Watu. It’s really up to your tastes. :)

The Caly 3/3.5 CF is another option, I like smooth scales when I’m wearing slacks...and it doesn’t take too much room in the pocket.

^This. Get what you want and make the clip black. See concurrent thread where we are discussing best ways of blackening a clip.

CF Chaparral would be my suggestion.

Carbon Fiber Chaparral
Light, small, extremely thin blade makes it a really good cutter.

Another vote for the Chaparral.

- CF if you want the most "classy" looking one and both a black handle and clip out of the box,
- FRN and changing the silver clip to a black one if you want to save some money (and a bit weight) - the grey FRN of the handle is obviously not black, but very unobtrusive, and just a very small part of the handle is exposed anyway when the knife is in the pocket.

Can´t say enough good things about the Chap - fills the role of a "gents knife", is a very slim carry, but is also an extremely capable and sturdily built cutting tool with perhaps the best backlock I´ve ever encountered.

Added to my post above:

My second suggestion, a bit larger than the Chap but still smaller than your Endela, would be the Sage 1 (linerlock) if you can find one (and want to lay down the money). Also black CF and black wire clip.

My initial response was a Kapara. But I am partial. I have used a Sage 1 in slacks, mainly for flicking. But the more I use the Kapara, the more awesome it is.

Both cool knives, but what he wants is "smaller than an Endela"
