Ignomious end

To a great knife.

I pulled out my G-10 Flight this evening, opened it and it didn't lock. Curious, I started looking and discovered the spring holder portion of the back spacer had snapped, leaving the spring laying loose. The knife is long out of production and longer out of warranty, so unless I get ambitious enough to make a new part I guess it's a paperweight now. Sad, I really liked that knife.

Sorry to hear that. It is surprisingly sad when you lose a trusted tool.

To me, having a part fail in storage is worse than snapping a blade doing something stupid (yes, I have).

Hi Jack, I would suggest sending it in to customer service. Charlynn will evaluate. You can tell her I said to send it in.

Thanks Sal. I might as well. It isn't going to do me any good as-is, and I'd probably never get around to fixing it although I do have an idea or two for how to return it to service. You might learn something useful from it. I'll probably wait until after the Christmas shipping season, though.
