How about a new Military?

Requests for a new Military get scattered throughout various threads. I know I would like to see a new one released. I also realize that Sal's mention of Military 2 may lessen the enthusiasm for the traditional version.

Although I prefer non-coated blades, the DCL options are included as these are the current series for the two shops, so it seems like those would be more realistic.

Also keeping it to current production steels, and ones that haven't been used before.

Between the two lock types, RIL and liner lock, I think I am ready for another RIL.

So for me, K390 RIL, with ranger green micarta side. G10 would be just fine.

Up until (maybe) this morning I'd have gone with 4V which I've yet to own...but I'm just intrigued enough to want to try out LC200N, and so it gets my vote.

Both would be the best answer for me personally.

Maxamet was requested for some time, didn't happen.

LC200N, there are plenty of Salt knives, what would be the benefit of a Salt Military.

K390 RIL ranger green micarta would be nice but will be expensive and Spyderco is not earger to do expensive knives that might not sell. There was talking about a titanium Caribbean and that project was killed due to price.

I have a Cruwear Millie.

Military 2 was mentioned, years are passing by...

Of all these the Spy27 with blue G10 would make sense at a reasonable price also considering is proprietary steel?

If there's another Military Sprint just don't make it exclusive and make it in sufficient numbers, so people that were unfortunate to be born on the other continents can benefit...

Speaking for myself, because I prefer the Military pattern. I don't buy patterns that don't appeal to me simply for the steel.

There are lots of patterns that have the same steel...from large to small. I have three knives with K390...Urban, PM2 and Police 4. I didn't exclude any one of the three because another model already was produced with the steel.

In any case, we all get to post our desires...the two I mentioned would head my list.

To each his own.

Yes! It is getting crazy. I think we will see a SPY27 and S45VN in Reveal 7 or 8. St. Nick's will be doing one for sure at some point, but who knows how many models will come before the Military? DLT has told me they are apprehensive about Military and Endura exclusives due to hypothetically slower sales of these models, but I don't see them having any problem selling a run of either in these in their DLC Cruwear combos (Purple or OD Green). K390 would be cool as long as it isn't from BBS.

I voted for DLC Cruwear

Haven't seen a new Military in awhile... Wondering if the Military 2 is closer than we think...

well that's not exactly a hard choice for me.

I'd be interested in a tougher tool steel as well though, especially if there's a coated option.
edit: This'd be a spectacular platform for the reintroduction of 3v, maybe not as good as the shaman but still.

A salt version of the Military in LC200N would be amazing.

K390, 10V, Maxamet or 4V all sound great. I would also buy a Military Salt.

Who am I kidding, I would buy a Military in any flavor.

My thoughts as well. I'm looking for an interesting Millie to pick up. Green micarta or G10 would be icing on the cake.

I would buy a new Military in about any steel Spyderco wants to use.

Maxamet, but it’s never going to happen. Time to give up on any new Militaries. There just isn’t enough demand.

I voted for the st. Nicks 4v but I would also really like a non-dlc Cruwear, not in purple. Please make enough so they’re not gone in 5 min.

I’m probably like a broken record on this but sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the oil. ;) :D

I’m hopeful for a tool steel Lefty Mille one day. :)

K390 or 4V would do nicely, thank you. :D :)

I voted Cruwear because I think it suits the geometry of the Military and how most people would use it, plus it is somewhat unique and I think it would be well received by Spyderco spans. But for me personally I would be interested in 4V, 10V/K390 or Rex45. Rex45 has already been done but they are probably hard to find on the market. I don't think Maxamet is suited for the long thin blade of the Military.

A LC200N steel would make the Military a tactical food prep knife!

I don't have a Military, because they are perpetually out of stock, and even though I ordered three (one with DLC, one w/o and one in s110v) months ago, still nothing.

So any of these would be great, just make enough of 'em.

A SE blade in a tougher steel would hit the spot. How about AEB-L?

Is there an all of the above option?
