Nope the world is better for it ;) The StormTrooper theme is exactly what I was hoping it would look like.

Just saw a quick video of these on the Cutlery Shoppe IG page, and they are indeed hollow ground and not FFG. Interesting... The patterns on the ones Jeff showed were indeed super busy!

Am I crazy for maybe wanting to get this knife? Did it hypnotize me? 👀

I just saw that, too. The post also said 31 layer damascus. I think in the past they've been 15 layer, right? That explains why they're busier.

A couple of Ebay sellers have them available if you can't wait for a dealer to get them up on their webpage.

I pre-ordered one from REC and I am still not sure exactly why but it kind of grows on you.

I like the colors for the handle, but the damascus is a bit too much.

That’s one of my very many Delica blade swaps... Here’s a few other recent ones:

I really like your Black and white Delica. I’m thinking about getting some custom scales for a Delica. It’s not difficult to install them is it?

D4 FRN my weakness and I did mention in a post a while back that I'd likely purchase anything delica frn damascus ... ordered! (That's 10 D4 for this year) Pic colors look different depending where you look so not certain what to expect.

In stock at GPK,

Are they hollow ground or saber ground? The video at GP knives looks more like a saber...

... and I answered my own question by reading the GP Knives description more carefully:

"This Limited Run version comes with a saber ground D.P.S. 15 Damascus/VG10 laminate blade and gray and black Zome FRN handles."

In the second post on this page, I confirmed they were hollow ground...

I think of hollow and saber as different grinds - hollow has a concave shape, whereas the saber is flat. In this image, 1 is a saber grind and 2 is hollow grind:

Though I guess you could call both of them saber grind, and call them "flat saber" vs "hollow saber"? I always think of a saber grind as being flat though, and the hollow I'd just call a hollow grind, or maybe a high hollow depending on where the transition is. But I'm far from an expert!

From the following website:
https://agrussell.com/knife-articles/blade-grinds

“A sabre grind is either a flat or hollow grind where the primary bevel (the grind) does not cover the entire width of the blade, leaving some portion unground. If someone says “sabre hollow ground” you know the blade has a hollow grind that starts partway down the blade. The transition line between the primary bevel and the unground portion of the blade is referred to as the Sabre Line.”

Nearly all descriptions online of this blade shape for the Endura and Delica refer to them as “hollow ground.” :)

So isn't calling this knife "hollow ground" inaccurate? There's no concavity to the bevel... That is the confusion I have

According to that definition above, they are either flat or hollow ground, period. A saber grind is a subtype possible for either variation. They are clearly not flat ground (in the case of the Delica, FFG), which has been the entire point of my posts in this thread.
