I am excited to try this steel! Who else here is ready for it?

Are we waiting on another Melt, of this CPM-SPY27 steel? :)

I hate to be 'that guy' :rolleyes: but with having waited now for 249 days. Since Wednesday January 15, 2020 @12:37 PM as a matter of fact. I feel It's time to bring this knife up again, and I have to wonder now. Is the sheet metal rack slot empty, where the CPM-SPY27 would normally be? To eventually be ground down to 0.125" for this Manix 2. :D

The "Coming Soon" banner, is getting harder to look at lately too. :cool:

I'm waiting for screw construction before I buy any more Manix LWs. Sold my few I had in the last purge. None until screws for me. Hopefully they change over before this one.

Yes, I hear you steelcity16. It is time. No need to keep treating the Manix 2 like this. It's 2020, and time for screw construction, and a new mold made. For better contouring, like we are seeing on the Para 3 LW.

In the meantime, while I wait for that to happen. I still want to try this steel, and this is still my favorite platform (even given its shortcomings now) to do that with.

I'm holding out for G10.

I'm sure the Spydie team is sitting around the conference table each time you post this saying "oh no steelcity is boycotting buying any Manix 2 LWs" :rolleyes:

I'm also looking forward to the release of the SPY27 M2 LW pinned construction and all. I just spent all my fun money on a bunch of ammo. So I can almost guarantee it'll be dropping any day :)

Me too...passed on a lot of good deals on the REX 45 and Maxamet because of the pinned construction. I just do not understand putting on these rust/patina magnets on a knife that doesn't allow you to fully disassemble it for cleaning and maintenance.

You're missing out on some really great knives. Squirt (or spray) a little oil on each side of the pivot, blowout the excess if necessary and enjoy using the knife. Pinned construction certainly isn't ideal but it's how Spyderco decided to make it. I decided to try the M2 LW despite the pins. I'm sure glad I did

...thinking the same thing. I would like to see the CQI thing "kick in" with screw construction.
