Calypso Jr. coming back

#1

Post by sotyakr »

This might be old news (but good news!) around here, but I was just poking around at BF and according to Sal, the Calypso Jr. will be re-released in gray FRN/PE VG-10 form. Looking at a trial run of 1000, and a November release.

So what does this mean????
If enough people pester/ask/bug(hahaha) Sal and Co for a return model we just might get it with a different coloured handle.
Let me be the first then to ask Sal to bring back the G-10 handled PE Sr. Terzuola. Oh and Sal if you could make the G-10 a light black that would be perfect! Thanks Spyderco!!!!!
Joking aside that is great news for all those who missed out on the Calypso, I have one and carried it for months, totally awesome EDC. If you thought you should buy one before my only suggestion is to make sure you buy one now! It isn't everyday youget another chance at such a great Spydie. Take Care!!!

I have a Calypso, Jr. in stainless. I carry at least once a week.

This is a fabulous knife and I would definitely get an FRN version. Probably with a Spydie edge.

Isn't it great news? One of Spyderco's best knives ever is to be back. And in PE! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

BTW - Sal hinted that if the sprint run went well other handle types might be on the cards, like a different coloured FRN, or ..... (drum roll)..... a micarta handled sprint run. Possibly.

gun con·trol n. definition 1. The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker received that fatal bullet wound. 2. The ability to hit what you are aiming at. 3. The first key step of a corrupt political agenda where good citizens are disarmed so that a dictatorship may replace a democracy in the future.

I picked up my Jr. PE right after they were discontinued at a really good price, and have been kicking myself for now getting another one at the time. Now it looks like I'll have another chance!
