I've owned my endura for 9 years and I'd like to get a smaller spydie. Should I go for the delica 50/50 or perhaps the native combo - or what about the calypso jr? - could I get some opinions from anyone who owns these models? thenk yew very much!! By the way, I carry my endura on a "quick release" clip attached to my keys - that way I make sure its always with me. The best knife there is is the one you have with you.

I carry the Endura and Delica. It is a nice combo. But I believe I would carry a Calyspo Jr. now days if I was buying a smaller Spydie. I don't like the Native(I believe I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like it. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>) so I'll suggest the other 2. I'm sure will get some more help in awhile.

I too carried an Endura for many years, now I carry a Calypso II, plain edge for most daily chores. Still love that Endura though.

Calypso Jr. is one of my usual carry pieces. I love the knife. The handle fits my hand just right and I just love that VG-10 blade.
Blades, you're not the only one in the world who doesn't like the Native. I do not like it either. Neither does one of my best friends. Still didn't stop me from adding the pearl inlay Natives to my collections, though.

Definitely get the Calypso Jr. Lightweight. I own the micarta handled one and the lightweight one and I prefer the lightweight one. Cuts great, takes and holds a good edge. Ergonomically it's just about perfect for my hand. I love it..
BTW, I am also one that doesnt like the look of the Native. They sure seem to be popular, especially given all of the "sprint" runs with different handle materials that show up...

I have both the Delica and Calypso Jr. Lwt. They are almost the same size and weight, with thin blades that have an almost equal amount of belly. The Calypso is tip down and rides very low in the pocket, the Delica is tip up and has a higher profile. The delica is easier to open because the hole is more exposed. The biggest difference is that the Calypso has a finger choil which allows your index finger to choke up on the blade. Overall the Calypso looks like a more developed design, but the Delica is very close in design to the Endura you are used to. I think you would enjoy either of them.

I've owned all of these knives and now carry a Native in a neck sheath. It's liteweight and all of the different holds make it one of my favorite Spydies. The Delica and Calypso are a little too small for my mitts. The only small Spydie I like is the Cricket which cuts great and always keeps my car keys handy. Right now I own 5 Natives.
