Chopped her down yesterday - cutting edge is now 3", handle is 4.12". Also removed the finger guard for more grip area, added a clip from a Kizer mini Sheepdog.

This is just.....awesome. I really, really hope this gets Sal’s attention and would buy a “mini” Chef in a heartbeat. Very nice job as always!

Looks a lot like the MD/Reate Prism, aside from the glaring differences in the scales. The dimensions are even pretty much spot on.

Nice work!

Lovely work! I like this way much than the Shaman chop, for some reason, it just looked a bit off ( but the work was outstanding).

I always want to ask, how do you chop the blade? Grinding it all off with belt sander is kinda time consuming. Saw is out of option on hardened steel. Angle grinder generates too much heat. How do you do it? If it is not a trade secret :D

I just use a dremel w/ the thin metal cut-off wheels. Douse the blade w/ water every couple seconds while cutting. Then shape w/ a belt grinder, also dousing constantly. Planning on upgrading to a bandsaw for the chopping though!

Random question, but what tap and die set do you use?

For clip redrilling/tapping I use a #50 bit and 2-56 tap, except for ti handles - works better to use a slightly bigger bit, like a #49 or 5/64". The ti gets all 'gummy' and binds/breaks taps like craze (for me at least) w/ the standard #50 hole. With the larger bit/hole, the threads are still deep enough that they hold well w/ too.
