I just picked up a Delica Wharnie and a RockJumper. I'm really looking forward to these options to really dive into the Wharnie experience. These Byrds are such a great value.

I too have found the Byrd Knives an excellent value! The hawkbill I bought has greatly impressed me. At first I was hesitant about the Knives, but after posting my concerns on the Forum I was quickly convinced to get one and see for myself. No buyer's remorse here. The knife is flawless and rivals many of the more expensive competitor offerings. I would (and will) buy more if Spyderco quit making so many darn knives to choose from. :D

Hi Skeeg,

The "3" is now "4".

Robin, Meadowlark, Harrier 2 and Cara Cara. All will include teeth.

That's so cool! I'll continue on the "any hints" thread with a question: Is a full flat ground blade feasible with 8cr13mov?
It is on the tenacious and other Byrd models already...

I approved the samples last week for all 4 variations.

It was just to ask whether the wharncliffes would be ffg, I've got ffg 8cr at home. Maybe not the most well put question.

This is going to be so much fun to try out! A downside to living in Europe is that it takes even longer for models to get here after they've been released

Now which one to try first?

I just got a grey Meadowlark in the mail today. The plan is to first put the Hawkbill blade into the grey frn handle (now it lives in a black g10 Meadowlark handle), then when the wharncliffe version comes, put that blade in the grey frn then dye it dark red.

How long until the wharncliffes come out in the market again? :D

I’ve been carrying a harrier 2 lw most days for quite a few months now and pretty excited to pick up both PE and SE versions of the wharncliffe...

BUT

I sure would like to see a makers mark on these Byrd’s like the raven 2?? Anyone else?

Hi Bjz,

The byrds were all designed by Eric, or me, or both of us.

I would be on board for the cara cara, harrier and the meadowlark. PE or SE a warn cliff would be great!

Fantastic idea, I was looking online for a Byrd Wharncliffe but couldn't find one.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to these! I can't figure out which one to test first. I'm leaning towards a Harrier since I'm very happy with the Endela SE right now.

Is there any update on when these might see the light of day?! I’m having trouble holding onto my budget while waiting!!
