Glock and Spyderco collaberation
Glock and Spyderco collaberation
how cool would a Glock 19 be with spyderco spyderweb stippling... of a Glock themed pm2 .. maybe even a limited edition package?
Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
With a laser etcher and programming skills anything is possible for stippling. Bi-directional texturing would be great on a handgun though. I doubt Glock would ever do anything like that, but Spyderco already makes an exclusive knife for Lone Wolf with a built in Glock takedown tool, so if anyone were to license Bi-directional texturing for their frame it’d probably be them.

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
Spyderco actually makes an Emerson Waved Endura with a built in 3/32" pin punch Glock tool. I'd be curious if the Glock tool feature could be implemented onto the PM2 handle. Especially now that there is a PM2 with wave feature.

Edit: Ez556 beat me to it.
Also, a Glock grip with Spydercos Bi-directional texture would be so cool!!

Then they could all team up and do a three way collaboration with Yeti...

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
I wanted to see a Ruger and Spyderco collab years ago, just to explore the possibilities.
Ruger cast a lot of stuff in steels and titanium, not related to firearms, so that piqued my interest...
The SpyderRench body was cast, so that got my attention...

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
Like many Europeans I know almost nothing about guns, but since Glock is an Austrian (my homecountry) company and Spyderco by FAR my favorite knife brand, any collaboration would be cool...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
I have a couple of Glocks and I don't think I'd be very interested.

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
The original ATR in Titan was designed to be a collaboration with Glock. Didn't work out though. I still like my Glocks.

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
Spyderco makes a product designed to fit the human hand. Glock, not so much.
Spyderco has a certain utilitarian beauty and Glocks share that design philosophy. I find Glocks both ugly and attractive.
I actually have a love/hate feeling towards Glocks. I shoot them well and appreciate their reliability. I hate their grips and their aesthetics are an afterthought.

This would be a marriage between my favourite knife maker and my favorite hand gun maker. I can't imagine anything that would come from their collaboration that wouldn't be awesome!

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
Same here.
Though, a Tenifer coated blade might be interesting. But, that's as far as my interest goes.

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
I talked with a company that does laser engraving and they do a lot of Glock grip jobs, I asked them if they thought they could do the Spyderco bidirectional pattern and they literally ignored my question so I took it as beyond their ability.
If you didn't know, there is kinda sorta a Glock Spyderco..

I've gotta agree with that. I hate the glock grips. Now a collab with H&K...that would surely be beautiful AND ergonomic.bearfacedkiller wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 2:59 pmSpyderco makes a product designed to fit the human hand. Glock, not so much.

Hk would be my first choice, want, wish! Doesn't Benchmade make knives for Hk now? If that's the case I wonder how that would work out? I feel pretty sure it wouldn't?JuPaul wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 8:53 amI've gotta agree with that. I hate the glock grips. Man, an Hk branded PM2 with machined, contoured G10 to mimic a P30's grip, and with 3V, 4V, PD1 or some other tough steel would be a very cool knife!
Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
You're right, looks like mostly autos/assisted opening and otf knives. Very grippy-looking scales, but I can't help but think they'd all have better ergos with some help from the Glessers. But I'm in no way impartial.benben wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 9:23 amHk would be my first choice, want, wish! Doesn't Benchmade make knives for Hk now? Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
Negative. Benchmade dumped HK in much the same way they dumped Doug Ritter.
Both the Ritter collabs (fantastic knives, by the way) and the HK knives are now made by Hogue. I don't like most of the far-out looking Hogue designs, but their down-to-earth knives (like the Ritter) are excellent.
My normal EDC is a Kahr, so I appreciate the Spyderco-Kahr collaboration more, but I also own the Lone Wolf Glock tool model.
Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation
I have several Glocks but feel no need to develop a theme around them.
