So I'm just curious - why is the lil native so much hotter than the native or native lw from this run? What about this one appeals to y'all?

I didn't know much about the Lil Native before this, I have a couple natives and native LWs already. I thought this would be a great model to try out the Lil Native. Plus, this seems like a really good knife for a first Spyderco for my son who is turning 9 this month. His favorite color is orange too, so this works out well. It's about the size of my first pocket knife when I was his age (blade wise) but I like the idea of more handle to hold onto and choils to help secure the grip. I remember when I was younger, having a dull knife and a slippery handle made for slips here and there when I was trying to whittle (which I loved to do). I started my son out on an old two blade case style (but cheaper knife) to see how he'd do and he's done well. This seems like a good next knife. Plus, I love the fact that with the compression lock, I can teach him to close it without ever having a finger in the way of the blade coming down.

I'm not a fan of the Native LW at all. I think it needs a steel backspacer or something, the balance just feels off to me. I lost interest in the G10 Native when they removed the steel liners (ended up modding a Cru-Wear Native 5 to feature steel liners and African Blackwood).

The Lil' Native interests me for a few reasons. I've never owned one, but a co-worker has one and we traded knives for the day and I really liked it. I've also never owned REX45, but I'm a HUGE fan of HAP40, so I'm sure I'll be a fan of REX45 too. And last, but not least... I REALLY want to have a set of Burnt Orange canvas Micarta scales with the front flipper mod made for the Lil' Native! I think that would be the bees knees.

There has only been one other sprint/exclusive of the lil native, and it had very limited numbers. So lots of people have been waiting for something other than the production black/s30v model. But there have been lots of other versions of the native. Plus I think people love the comp lock on this one, whereas the regular Native only comes with a backlock.

Finally. Got one inbound. Sheesh this one has been the slipperiest one of whole Rex45 run, including the first run... I think JuPaul is on point, lots of folks really want this one, plus, the only other non-s30v run was the 4v St. Nicks and the secondary market is commanding 300 for those pretty regularly...

No, the time difference here is making this one particularly hard to get.

Got an email yesterday from my preferred seller, New Graham Knives.

By the time I saw it and checked an hour or so later, they were all gone.

I am glad that I am not really seeking one of these but I have a feeling that if you hold out long enough they will keep dropping. Spyderco seems to be extending their release to space shipments to different retailers. My guess is that they keep appearing.

The Spyderedge SE lil native in S30v has been a great knife. Almost nothing it can’t handle and the grind makes it a better cutter than the plain edge. Just my opinion.

Thanks Dan,

I just got lucky, did a search and St.NicksKnives happened to have only one in stock! Quickly ordered it. I don't know about their reputation as this was a general search.

Anyone know if St.NicksKnives is a legit dealer?

Their the ones that released the only exclusive for this model. St Nicks has arguably the most sought after exclusives out there. Always an instant sell out!

It's crazy, Deadwood has 9 on Amazon, but they're charging $218!!! And a few people have bought them (they had 11 yesterday). They also have them on their website for $175.
