When I got my new Para3 K390 yesterday I saw that the logo was really crisp and even looked like if it was painted. It of course isn’t but looked that way. Than I thought it would be nice to compare the 3 Para3’s I have. M4, Maxamet, K390 and the Drunken in S90V for comparison.
I used a magnifying glass and Iphone X to make the pictures. They all look very different but cool! Check the little differences like the mouth of the spider.
Here are some pictures :)
CPM-M4
Bohler K390
Micro Melt Maxamet

Very cool pictures, thank you! M4 Para 3 seems to be different from the other two, seems to have no "contour line" while on the K390 and Maxamet it really sticks out in your pics. And the mouth really varys BIG time. Can anyone explain this? They're all made in Golden, right?!

Thanks. I think it has to do with the material they are engraving in. The M4 has the DLC coating which makes it a bit different. And the K390 has these nice grind lines. All the Para3’s are made in Golden.

I think you'll see the M4 has a "contour line", if you look closely. It's just less noticeable because it's only a shade or two lighter in color than the rest of the bug.
As for the shape, may be different settings on the laser at different times, may be they have more than one laser going at a time and the settings are just a bit different, may be the settings on the jig that holds the blade change over time, may be the way the different steels react to the laser.
Taichungs way of doing it is my least favorite. It looks cool but I dont like that it is grabby. If you run a cloth or shirt or paper towel over it there is resistance at the logo that the other logos dont have. No idea why its different like that.
Does anyone know what spydercos have different size bug logos? I never noticed this until I got the lil temperance 3, but the bug logo on the blade is huge. Bigger than the logo on all my other spydies.

The Taichung Spyder is the most intricate & also my favorite. It's 3D pattern almost looks like a real spider. I agree that it also could thwart counterfeiting.
