spyderco/esee collab?

i woke up from a dream this morning because i was holding an izula made with lc200n. i realize this may mean i have a problem, but that’s a topic for another time. i know there are many izula fans here and it’s by far my favorite little fixed blade knife. i’d love to see spyderco and esee work together to produce one in stonewashed lc200n. spyder on one side and ant on the other. it would be perfect!

Make it half as thick and I'm in!

The Enuff is dimensionally similar to the Izula2. They just need to switch the scales from frn to canvas micarta.

My Izula has an edge so thick that it is fairly useless for me. I very, very much prefer the BK14 over the Izula. I prefer my Street Beat over either one of them.

I would be totally in. Also would love a Spyderco/Esee collaboration for a Candiru in LC200N.

Small and rustproof is a big reason why i'm looking forward to the new swick!

The regular Izula isn’t all bad and I do like it for a couple reasons. It is extremely easy to carry and with the factory micarta scales I find it very ergonomic. I just like other knives more.

That is my favorite Spyderco fixed blade. I'm super excited about the Swick, but it's second on my list.

Do you know what I would do for an LC200N Street Beat with smooth micarta? The answer wouldn't be appropriate for these lovely forums!

I'd love to see a Street Beat in Maxamet or M390 as part of the regular sales brochure so that I can get one.

An Esee/Spyderco collaboration would be awesome! Thinking about it though, what design would that be? If I’m not mistaken about any of these, the Izula is a Rowen design, many of the larger knives are of some sort of Ontario descent, and there are a slew of their knives that are themselves a collaboration such as my own CM6 and all the camp lore knives... what would an actual Esee knife look like? I do love my little stainless Izula with blue TKC extended G10 scales, and I’d say an LC200N Izula in the longer handled “2” variety would be awesome with a Spyder next to the Izula!

Throw in some removable FRN scales with the Bi-direction texturing to add a bit more Spyder-flair

Why would two mainstream knife production companies collaborate? ESEE can buy LC200N steel can't they?

Yea, but I don't need quarter inch blade stock. That's why I buy Spydercos.

What would either company gain from the other? IMHO, each is THE leader of its own world.

the izula is not a quarter inch thick. it's about as thick as a native.

the standard izula is my favorite variation. i would love some removable, bi-directional handle scales from spyderco for it.

the street beat doesn't look very comfortable to me and i think it's pretty ugly, to be honest. the enuff might just do it though. i wonder if spyderco will make the enuff salt lc200n. i have no problems with h1, but i'm looking for plain edge and would like better retention.

Ford and Nissan made the Villager/Quest together, Toyota and Subaru made the 86/FRS/BRZ together, the Fiat 124 is a Italian styled Miata made in Japan, Chevy and Toyota traded cars, Chevy selling a rebadged Corolla in the US and Toyota selling a rebadged Cavalier in Japan... these are all examples of large companies working together just in the car industry. It happens in all industries though. It allows the different companies to hit customers they otherwise might not, or just allow them to work together to make something they can both profit off of. If Spyderco worked with Esee on something, there’s a lot of Esee owners who have never considered Spyderco who would suddenly be interested in something in their line and vise versa.

Unless you've held one, you can't know. I thought the same way, but it is surprisingly comfortable.
