Martin's sentiments deserve to be revisited, as I am relatively new to self defense using the Gunting.
My wife is not keen on the G's size and weight and is really looking for a mini-gunting.
I know we'd be buying a trainer and live blade for her if they were available. This little sister to the Gunting is exactly what we were looking for.
Please please please consider making it happen soon. We love the shape of it, how it seems to cradle the hand so well, it's discreetness, etc. Lovely little tool!

I would buy two right off the bat. Plus trainers if they were available.

If it came with a plain edge and a serrated edge I would buy two and a trainer. Spyderco needs more versions of trainers, Like a chinook, and a yojimbo.

Sal we need the Tusok. I know many ladies that find the gunting a little big but have seen pics of the Tusok and think it would be a better fit

i have a gunting, also plan a Yojimbo, i have a paramillie and scorpius..but for the law here in italy no one of them could be carried (well, in fact i carry the scorpius as edc, but this is another story)..
i would buy -to begin- 3 tusok (me ,my wife - actually carries a simonich bitteroot- , and my syster)..
regards

Sal, get people to prepay for a Tusok (have folks put their money where their mouth is) and make the knife. I will be good for two and have my CC ready.

I just got a set of Martin's resin trainers over the weekend. All I can say is "wow!" This little blade fits perfectly in the hand, grip changes are quick and secure, with the extra curve on the back, the horn doesn't interfere with a 'through the fingers' change, and with the angle, it comes to point almost perfectly. Made of steel and G-10, it could only get better... I would prepay as well!

It looks really cool, but I gotta wonder just how tiny it is if it's a smaller alternative to the Gunting. That thing is already tiny.

I think the TUSOK's the right size.
Fred Perrin would probably agree ; there
were articles in BLADE & TACTICAL KNIVES
showing that the members of the armed
forces were tending towards smaller knives.
( NOT new. I remember some guys @ Ft. Benning who were carrying small jacknives
back in '83' along w/a good FB ) What makes
a smaller blade better? Nothing really, other than if it has a razor sharp edge &
can take abuse in the field - this is
where <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> excels!
If a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> were within the reach of my service
pay ( at the time about $600month ) I would've had a small Spydie ( no Crickets
at the time, but the worker SE would've
sufficed <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>)
If you got the right training ( instinct
more so ) a small blade'll get you through
a fix about as fast as a 4" mili IMO.

It's not that the blade is small; my former aversion to smaller blades stemmed from not knowing that they could be just as efficient as larger blades. I love my Spydies. What can I say?
That said, when I was saying it was too small, I was referring to the handle. It doesn't exactly get lost in my hand, but it *is* a bit smaller than I'd like.
