Re: Upsized Sage?
In terms of blade shape, I'd say the Manix 2.

Here's an old photo of my beginning stages of collecting Spydercos. Sage 5 and Manix 2 one on top of the other. Hope this helps! I'd take some comparison photos for you, but no longer own a Sage 5...though I have 3 Manix's and likely the new Cruwear on the way. I found them both extremely comfortable in hand, but the Manix with a bit more handle and blade. Only sold the Sage 5 because it was so similar to the Para 3 and hopped on that bandwagon last summer.

Is it time for the Sage to have a BIg Brother?

Re: Upsized Sage?
Sand out the point in the grip of a Manix 2 and you've basically got it.

Re: Upsized Sage?
I'd love to see a 3.5" - 4" Sage. It's one of my favorite models but I don't carry it as often as I would were it a little larger. It's a great not-so-tactical knife for social situations where a PM2 & friends might get some looks.
I usually carry an Al Mar Eagle when I'm out with company because it's super inconspicuous and can split a sandwich with zero drama. 4" Smooth Micarta Sage, wru!

Re: Upsized Sage?
The Super leaf or the Mannix 2 are pretty close. I wouldn’t buy a larger Sage. The Mannix 2 is just a very good alternative and a larger knife and if you want something bigger get a Mannix 2XL. The XL might be even closer to what you’re looking for.

Re: Upsized Sage?
Great suggestions with the Superleaf and Manix. Here's what I'd like in a larger (really, longer) Sage over either of those two knives, which, spoiler alert, has a lot to do with food prep:
- Thinner stock for slicing (2.5mm-3mm; Superleaf is 4mm)
- RIL, compression, or back lock (ball bearing spring lock can get gunky)
- Deep carry wire clip
- Full disassembly for thorough cleaning
I do like the Native Chief but the stock is very thick. And I'm really looking forward to the Caly 3.5 LW because it ticks most of the above boxes.
Still, a thin, slicey ~3.75" Sage 2 (titanium, RIL) would be a grail knife for me. Large Sebenza, eat your heart out.

Re: Upsized Sage?
I hear you on the stock thickness. Thin and sliced is great and can’t be beat fir most things. but there are good points about thicker if the grind gets thin behind the edge.
