Choil-less Spyderco Knives
Choil-less Spyderco Knives
Suggest a finger choil-less spydie that isn't a Delica, Endura, or in the value line (tenacious, etc). Preferably not a frame lock or liner lock either.

Haven't you already had every Spyderco? :) How about an Endela? Centofante 3? Sliverax?
Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives
Endela...
But if you're proposing more choilless Spydies or choilless versions of existing models (Native... Manix 2...(though the latter HAS to have some choil technically due to the CBBL)) I am with you!
Something like a higher end Tenacious, (better steel) preferrably featuring a backlock, would be great either

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives
Why that?? The Native would be a hole lot more versatile with a longer edge and more usable area on the actual handle, the Manix has great ergos in an regular grip, but has just a really short usable edge for its bulky size. So getting rid of the choil would improve it for me personally.Tims wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 2:16 amI just spewed a little.Wartstein wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2019 11:29 pmEndela...

And I am talking about VERSIONS of choil-models, not of replacing those...

Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives
I’m a hard sell for a choil delete mate, my hand searches for a choil when I pick up a fork.Wartstein wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 4:33 amWhy that?? All good, we like what we like.
Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives
I like the design of the Kapara, where the choil isn't a part of the blade.
Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives
Functionally, I regard the notch on the Endura (Pacific Salt)/Delica (Salt)/Endela as a choil. Does no one else?
After all, this notch provides a reliable purchase for greater blade control plus an index for knowing the apex isn’t far away...

You got an Ikuchi yet?

Re: Choil-less Spyderco Knives
I’m definitely not on board with deleting a choil from Manix or Native! The Native is way too small to lose the choil, also the 3 finger grip behind the choil is very uncomfortable and the grip feels very unsecured. For my hands anyway. The Manix has enough handle to lose the choil but it wouldn’t be a Manix. It would lose a lot of versatility. For my needs it has enough edge.
Now an updated higher end Tenacious is something I would look at...
