As far as I recollect, those TiCN coated Salts were originally made in PE based on a request for a cutting tool for US Marine pilots. Then they were released with edge variants for the public market too.

Personally I don't really care for coatings, as I like to grind blades thinner behind the edge, and strop the flats smoother over time, and I find DLC has a 'draggy' kind of matte finish. I haven't tried a TiCN coated blade.

They do look pretty cool though.
