I almost never carry two Spydercos. I generally pair Spyderco and Leatherman. Either a fixed blade like a Ronin 2 or Street Bowie, or folders like the Police 4 or Pacific Salt SE, paired with a Wave, Rev or Micra.

Before a couple of days ago, my carry generally included a Byrd Rescue 2, Benchmade Mini Freek, and Victorinox Camper -- the latter mainly being a beater/loaner. But I recently received the Cutlery Shop exclusive Endura and a sapphire Victorinox Classic-- the latter is also mainly going to be a beater/loaner.

I can't imagine I'll be lacking in capability with the PE Endura, SE Byrd Rescue (modified to wharncliffe), and a Vic Classic.

I try to mix it up. Usually a dagonfly and something else.

If your goal was to try a different combo every day though, if you have 5 knives and carry 2 at a time, you could have 10 different combos. A different one for every day of the week. 6 knives and you get 15 combos. 12 knives you get 66 combos.... 28 knives and you get 378 combos, a different combo for every day of the year!

And if you have 28 knives and carry 3 knives at a time, you could carry a different combo every day for 8 years :D

Varies, but my secondary is usually a Vic SD Classic, Manbug, or DF2. Primary changes constantly... Today it was this combo:

Autonomy 2 is my go-to, right front pocket, with Delica Wharncliffe added to back right pocket for evenings and weekends and cutting chores.

I keep a Swiss Army Compact with titanium scales on my at all times (unless I’m in the woods, in which case I carry a walnut Huntsman) along with my standard knife (a titanium Chaparral today).

The SAK gives me access to a decently sized backup blade, a corkscrew, scissors, bottle opener, tweezers, file, and a pen for writing. Pretty useful combination in an urban setting.

My long time duo used to be the Military and Ladybug. Then I stopped carrying a Ladybug on my keys (got sick of going into places that didn't allow "weapons" and having to take it off) and I switched to the Dragonfly Salt SE years ago when I was first dabbling in SE. Most days now I don't actually keep two knives on my body (unless you count my multitool) but I don't leave the house without my sling pack and it always has my Dragonfly Salt Hawkbill in it so that's my secondary knife. My main knife has been an Autonomy for over a year but I've been carrying a Caribbean for about a month now and I'm loving it.

There was a time when my backup knife was SE because it seemed like the best for versatility, but now both my carry options are SE and in a year and a half I haven't come across one single situation where PE would have been better.

I think I’m just going back to one knife, no multi tool no backup blade. Just run one blade for a change and see how I like it. The real question is new knife or no :D

Funny you should ask. I had a SE Lady bug for the longest time that I carried everywhere. Eventually I bought a Dragonfly which was great, but the LB was so small that I kept carrying that, too. Then I bought a Para 3 Cru-Wear and a Native 5 Lightweight w/combo edge. Both awesome knives. So now I carry either the Para 3 or the Native 5 LW, and always the Ladybug as well. Really nice to have a medium knife and a small knife. Also really nice to have a SE and a PE to choose from.
