Pacific Salt 2

#1

Post by T-1000 »

I thought I remember reading a while back about Sal hinting at a Pacific Salt 2 with the same changes that the Salt 2 underwent. Anyone have anymore info on this? Summer is coming, would love to have that one in my shorts when I hit the beach

it's already perfect.

i love the hollow grind combined with the spyderedge.
i prefer the volcano grip for this knife.
i love the slight sheepsfoot and more robust tip as opposed to a pointier tip.
i love the h1 in spyderedge.

i certainly don't fault anyone for wanting the newer design and an lc200n blade though. if i lost my pacific salt and that was all that was left, i'd definitely be fine with the proposed changes. or maybe i'd get a sheepsfoot caribbean instead.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

From what I can see, people love the Pacific Salt because of the handle design. It's a throwback to their much-beloved Delica-Endura generation 3 era. They love the shape, the texture, and the clip. As the owner of the latest Spyderhawk sprint I would have to agree.

For the second generation I'd recommend keeping the current handle shape and volcano texture (although, bi-directional texture might be interesting). The clip could be changed to the three-screw design which might allow for four positions. Spyderedge models would stay H1, but plain edge specimens would switch to LC200N. I'm sure a more prominent tip would be very popular, as well.

I’m of the opposite opinion. I’d much prefer the endura 4 handle shape. My ideal pacific salt 2 would be the endura 4 handle with the current pacific salt clip. I think the bi-directional texture is grippier but have no problems with the volcano texture.
