Ikuchi

This knife is very appealing to the eye. I've seen others in this style that I've been tempted to buy, but never pulled the trigger. Anyone mind providing some real world feedback on this design style?

I am intrigued too. Sadly there is no money in the knife fund at the moment.

This is the one I've been waiting for. Eric describes the knife fairly well in this video, starting around 3:02:

Very excited about this model! I see they’re using thin blade stock. Same as Delica I believe.

I am very pleased to see that it is $130; even more pleasing is the 3.26 inch blade length. I thought this thing was gonna be closer in size to the Amalgam or Kapara, but 3 and a quarter inches is an excellent EDC size.

I, too, am pleased with the size. This is such a departure from the Spydercos I have owned/used that I think I'll wait for a review or two. But I definitely have my eye on this one.

Paul Alexander is the only designer who has got me to break my “ Sal design only “ rule .... I suspect he may do so again.!

Welp, there went another $130! I have a love/hate relationship with this new reveal process. I love it, but hate that it causes unexpected purchases!

$130 is amazing!! I had already budgeted $165 due to recent pricing trends, this is literally an amazing knife and money back in my pocket! Calling it right now #1 knife of 2019 :-)

So let's talk about the practical uses for this knife other than it being a flipper which is my old man version of a fidget spinner.

Image

Blade shape and ergonomics: Fancy letter-opener? Obviously, it's going to be a wicked slicer, but clearly, it is not meant for hard use. Gentlemen's folder? Since it's only going to see light use, this one's a candidate for a 5-10 degree (10-20 inclusive) bevel.

I can see slipping this in my black suit with a white collar for funerals, but if anyone sees the pastor pull out this blade I'm liable to have more than one funeral to perform from the heart-attacks it will induce!

Thoughts?

I am sure Paul will chime in soon enough and let you know his intent for this design
