Is the Spyderco Automnomy2 the first Auto knife they Mfg.ed

Just asking if the Spyderco Autonomy2 was their first at making a side opening Automatic knife.

No, it's the fifth (or sixth, depending on how you count). The first three were the Embassy and two sizes of the Citadel, which came out around 2009. Then there was the Autonomy, which came out a few years back and is still in production. It is available in two versions, one without a clip and safety that is sold only to the US Coast Guard, and one with a clip and safety that's available to anyone who can legally purchase it. So five, or six depending on whether you count the versions of the Autonomy as one or two They also made an oddball little knife called the Bi-Fold which was considered an automatic, but flipped open on a hinge.

Thank you for this Info. being very new to Spyderco knives i had no idea when they first got into Autos, i own a few Microtechs and my Microtech LUDT is near to my Autonomy2 but i like the action of the Autonomy2 better then my Microtech LUDT.

The '2' suffix should give a clue.. :D
