I'm a fairly new knife nut. I've always had a blade of some sort, but never spent the money on anything other than what you would find in a big box store till I finally bought a Manix 2 LW in BD1 for my birthday last November. Since then, my oldest son has caught the bug as well and I got him a meadowlark last Christmas and my other son wanted a ladybug after the meadowlark came in. They both have had other cheapies in 440 but the spydies are their only decent knives. My oldest who is the one that caught the bug with me is getting a Delica 4 Zome that has been acid washed for Christmas.

My heart is set on a Para 2 in s110v (or a similar steel) for my next purchase.

Nice that your family is appreciating Spydercos together. A PM2 is a great choice in any steel. Aside from being a great design, one of the addicting things about the PM2 is just how many great steel choices you have. Good luck buying just one .

The Paramilitary 2 is awesome but some say the Para 3 is even mega more awesome. I really don't have an opinion on which one though. :)

You can't go wrong with the PM2. The PM2 and Manix 2 alternate being my favorite knife on different days.

The para 3 is only good for me with a signet ring on it as it helps extend the grip more. The pm2 on the other hand is truly "golden" as is.
