I feel like my girlfriend and I made out like bandits today! Lots of hard decisions and a couple we saw floating around that we couldn't get our hands on, but we nearly checked everything off our list. The Maxamet Native will be traveling to a good home but the rest are VERY welcome additions to the family :)
So lets see 'em guys and gals!
ETA* The lighting in my pic distorted the color scheme on some of the models. Top to bottom: KW Ti/CF Military, KW 52100 Manix 2, REC 204p Para3, BHQ Jade/DLC M4 Para3, Maxamet Native5 LW, BD1 Cat, Pink/Purple Zome Delica, Fish Hunter. - Genzow HatchetHawk to the left.

$65 for that BHQ Para 3!?! What a steal! What's the blemish with that knife?

Just the smallest little mar above the liner on the inside of the G10. Action, centering, and fit is perfect.

Fish Hunter was $65. Small black mark on the FRN.

Hit that mark with some magic eraser, it’ll probably disappear. If not, maybe some light sand paper. Awesome scores man.

Nice pick ups, well done.
I'd have bought both of those, my FRN knives get marked within a week of getting them
so little blemishes like that are nothing.

Nice score there.
I think they could fetch more for these if they sold em online.

Nice. I would use the seconds sale to buy things that I don’t plan on buying otherwise, like the hatchet and fish hunter. Got some scores for sure.

Maybe but their is nothing like getting someone in a shop and watching them go.
IMHO, I think people buy more when they physically have things in front of them
and the specials are right there.
On line, yes, people will jump on a special but buying a haul of 10 knives, not so sure
they would do that.
Maybe the OP would answer that question, would have he purchased all those knives
if they were only on line ?

Maybe so, but now they pretty much exclude most buyers in the world that won't come to Golden for a sale. It's not worth a plane ticket for me.

Yes, agree, but thems the breaks.
Can't complain considering I got 2 Catcherman and a 2 Serrated Cricket's in 2 weeks at less than half what I thought I'd be paying for each.

How do you know the knives are factory seconds?
Incredible deals on those knives! $65 bucks each? Huh?!! And $120 for the Military too. Wow. Just wow. I may fly there next year.

I am not sure honestly. My initial thought is yes, because did you see those prices? Then I think about the benefit of being able to handle a dozen or so of some of the models and picking the best one out of the bunch. If I didn't have that I most likely wouldn't have bought as many. They aren't all winners at the sale, you can definitely understand where some failed QC and thus get the notch on the blade. I am not a big gambler so would feel uneasy not knowing how they function before purchasing.
I do agree with you though 500. There is something really special about the heading up to Golden to stand in line in 30°f weather at 5 in the morning with a few hundred other knife enthusiasts before heading in for the frenzy. Getting to experience it in person I understand further how much they are building the :spyder: CULTURE composed of customers and staff with this event. While in line they were running trivia for prizes (wooden Dragonflys and such,) giving away knives at random, hooking it up with coffee and snacks. All the employees were just as excited about the blades as the patrons. It was an actual event as opposed to the run-of-the-mill online sale.
I get it, traveling to Golden to spend money on knives is not feasible for many out there for a plethora of reasons. It sucks to miss out on stuff. If you can make it though its an experience to hold stock in. Much more to it than deals on blades, its connections with people who you may otherwise never have a conversation with, but you share interest in hobby together. Perhaps plan a holiday to the states during the same time and incorporate it into the trip, Rutger? That way it justifies the trip and you can come have a blast!

I am, of the two he posted with blemishes on the FRN!
I am buying a fish hunter and the "white" handled one is just nice.
But good on him for going and getting.

They put a small notch on the very top of the blade near the Spyderhole, right side. If there is jimping they seat it right next to it so you dont even notice it al all. If no jimping is present it stands out, but all of these are users so its no big deal.
