According to the product page it is. However, I do totally agree that the FRN almost takes it in a different direction.

Maybe a dealer will step up for a lw exclusive. :)

I agree. The blade shape, slicey thinness, ergonomics, overall wafer thinness, insane light weight, wire clip, incredible glass-like smoothness. It is a work of art. It has seen the most pocket time on any of my knives the past few weeks.

Why not keep the original Chaparral as a platform for scale material AND consider the Chaparral LW as its own platform and offer some other options like an LC200N Salt version and some other steels? Elmax maybe? Cruwear? S110V? Best of both worlds. LC200N Salt would be my number one request for the next model by a mile. I bet those would sell like hot cakes as well.

That would be interesting.

I'd love to see the next chaps coming in around the price of the carbon fiber or rafir nobel. That $120-$130 is a sweet spot for them.

I would be down for the SS, nvm the weight. SS with champfered holes (or ti with holes) would be nice. Damascus handles would be nice as well, though probably pricey.

I'd really like to see some good jigged or saw cut bone. Even stag if kept thin. Red and black jiggged bone would be phenomenal.

I've given away a couple Chaps as gifts. I also tried the FRN version for myself but didn't keep it. So I'm still looking for one.
All stainless doesn't interest me. Too heavy and I like a screwed or at least riveted pivot.
I'd be interested in micarta or a stabilized wood.

I can’t believe the discounted Ti versions are hanging around. Stunning gents edc.

Yea I paid almost $200 the week they came out. Still think it was worth it.

I still say keep everything the same, but throw on micarta scales. Just not sure what color micarta I'd like. Maybe an OD green.

What about c-tek (or however it is spelled)? I know it isn't exactly new or unique but I like the honeycomb look.

Micarta might be nice; has Spyderco used it before?

As long as they continue the current options, I’m satisfied. The CF/G-10 version is one of my most carried knives, and my brother loves the FRN version I gave him for his birthday. It’s nice to have CTS-XHP at this price range, and I love the appearance and texture of my Chaparral’s scales.

Nice! The Chaparral is a great platform for variety, but it's also a perfect entry Spyderco for first-time pocket knife owners. No matter what "high end" or custom knives I acquire, I'll still frequently carry a Chaparral.
