Sometimes I forget about some of the BIGGER knives spyderco offers. I just saw an older Blade HQ promotional video showcasing the Paysan and the Amalgam. They both look great. What models am I forgetting, regarding those larger than the endura??

Police
Military
Subvert
Amalgam
Paysan
Resilience
???

K2 and Tatanka but they are discontinued. Is the Pacific Salt bigger than an Endura?

Totally forgot about the K2. What a great design there. Purposely left out the Tatanka, but shame on me for doing so. I guess the Pac Salt is exactly the same?

I just checked spyderco website and endura 4 overall length is longer than the Pacific salt which uses the Endura 3 handle

I'd like that model but some may feel it's too similar to the slysz bowie.

K2 and Slysz Bowie are discontinued and the Slysz Bowie is super sought after and more expensive on the secondary market, I feel a mini k2 could scratch that itch. Have you seen the new Subvert it's another big knife with a similar blade shape

Szabo folder dwarfs an Endura. Chinook 4 is bigger. Aqua Salt, the Hossoms, Rock Salt....you also neglected to mention either upcoming bowie ;)

I like everything about the Subvert, essentially... Minus the price.

Vivi, I love those bowies. I should have specified folders. I'd be looking more closely at buying a spyderco bowie if I didn't already have a cold steel ak-47 in 3v that accomplishes anything I need from a bowie knife.

The Catcherman is a very cool knife. I see them pop up now and again but I really don't want AUS8.

I'd like to try one simply for the insane length to weight ratio, and I prefer 2mm blade stock to 3 or 4mm that's more common.

My only reservation is the plastic clip, I wonder if retention would be enough to have it clipped to a carge pocket while jogging mountain trails.

Haven't been able to track one down yet either way.

Do any of you own any knives that are virtually the same thickness behind the edge as they are at the spine? Like a parallel FFG similar to a razor blade? I was curious about this concept after seeing how thick the Amalgam is at the spine yet quite thin behind the edge (basically the opposite of what I'm asking about). I feel like slicing ability would be great if the only "wedge" action the user experienced was on the bevel itself and not on the primary grind. Has anyone here modded a dedicated slicer to be thinner at the spine? Or is this just a bad idea as it reduces the strength of the blade too much or causes discomfort if you need to press your thumb against the spine when cutting?

Couple questions for Sal or Kristi -

Is it safe to assume there will be another Factory Seconds Sale this year? If yes, will it be the same date as in the past?

Looking to get travel plans made as soon as possible! :spyder:

Sounds like you're describing a Mora. Thin blade, low bevel.
