I like mine and it is a beast, it's the one I'm afraid to gently swipe my finger along the cutting edge, it is very aggresive, it will draw blood ...

I'm not sure that guy is using it for the right purpose, it's not for processing wood, still shows how solid it is

I've used it occasionally for cutting meat in the kitchen, it's heavy and cuts like a chainsaw, have to be careful not to chop my fingers off

Back when I was still able to get out into the woods, the Serrata was number one on my list of fixed blades. Awesome knife.

Everybody likes them, nobody buys them and then they are sad 4 being discontinued (see Slysz-Bowie) :D

Also, this is casted 440C, David Boye in the eighties, casting enlarges the dendrite structure making it more toothy and very aggressive cutter, the micro serrations excel at cutting fibrous materials, meat

It's not 4 bushcrafting in the woods, Stuart doesn't recommend battoning, get a small axe FFS :D

Yes. Was #1. Hard to justify a Serrata when confined to a walker and wheelchair.

Seratta is not necessarily a bushcraft knife, if you can get in front of a chopping board you can enjoy it's cutting power without going out in the woods

Is that and a movie clip supposed to make me feel better? I think your intentions are good, but unless you too have a terminal condition and know what that is like, you might want to be more thoughtful before you offer advice.

It's a beautiful refined design. Stuart did a great job. Difficult to make in production, but worth the effort.

This isn't the first response that I have read from you that seems to be a bit harsh.

I have lost several family members to cancer. My wife's mother just got over breast cancer last year, and than was diagnosed a few months ago with stage 4 cancer of the spine. I have lost 2 of my brothers at age 27 and 29, not from cancer, but from other situations. Tomorrow is not a gurrantee for any of us.

Love the shape of the Serrata.
Do you think we would ever see a sprint run, perhaps in 4V and or A2 keep it cheap?
I know, steel snob. But I have had a lot of 440C.

I have made stock removed "Serratas", in VG10 and 12C27 steel on special order.

It also means a thinner edge would be achieved. Maybe even a thinner spine.
Sal has a Pug in 4mm 12C27, a reduced Serrata, with those features.

Any steel at all would be a great idea.

I've handled the Serrata and it's a beautiful knife and very ergonomic. And I'd love to try the cast 440c... the blade is just too thick and heavy for my purposes, so I've never purchased it. I'd love to see it in thinner stock (4mm), but still with cast 440c.

Definitely shows what the knife is capable of.
And I think there is a market for this style.

You know AEB-L, w/ a thinner spine might be nice steel run for this knife?

AEB-L would be my first choice, but folk seem to think that the super steels are "better"...

I didnt know any "better" than 1095 or 440C for about 33 years of my life. Always served me well. I think if I didn't come here, I would still be there.
