Gritty Endura SS Question

#1

Post by WorkForALiving »

I just received my Stainless Steel Endura (C10P) and the opening/closing motion is gritty. It feels and sounds like some tiny abrasive particles are stuck in the hinge. I cleaned it (Q-tips & Cloth) and lubed it and it is a bit better.

I have never had this before with a Spydie. Is this peculiar to the Endura SS (maybe a preservative that get applied in the factory?)?

Will it work itself out?

fill your sink up so that you can open and close the knife so that it is fully submerged.I use a little soap and work the action a few times under warter then rinse with hot water then dry and lube

Another suggestion:
Spray pivots with WD 40 then spray with compressed air, then apply lighter fluid or alcohol and spray with compressed air. Oil pivots when finished.

I prefer to clean under warm running water with Simple Green and a toothbrush, rinse well, and blow out with compressed air. Re-oil with your favorite slippery stuff.

I like extra-hot water, a shot of compressed air, then a drip or two of oil. Keeps the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> going for a long, long time! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Never underestimate the impossible.
