Ka-Bar already on it...

Looks like they went with a backlock and tanto on their folder. @doc Dan, they must have heard your thoughts since they don't have a detent-based lock here. :D
And we care about Ka-Bar because...? Spyderco has made NASA knives even though Case had made one.
I don't think Spyderco has ever made knives for NASA officially. The "NASA" Proficient was referred to as that, at the discretion of the designer, Chris Claycomb, because of the high end materials used to make the knife.

I believe the white "NASA" knives that Spyderco made were not commissioned officially by NASA, though I very well could be wrong. If I understand correctly, they were made for American artist Tom Sachs and his art exhibit called "Space Program" (2007) More information about the "Space Program" exhibit here - https://tomsachs.org/exhibition/space-program

I found some more information on his website about the Delica he made for the exhibit.

"Used on the moon by Astronauts Ensz, Karapetian, Walz, and Spellacy. These genuine Spyderco Delica 4 knives have been hand altered by Commander Tom Sachs. Each is unique and hand engraved with a NASA insignia and a Space Program serial number. A Totin' Chip Card serves as a certificate of authenticity and outlines the responsibilities of the knife bearer." - https://www.tomsachs.org/item/nasa-knife

Some further information about this collection of knives from KnifeCenter. -
"Tom Sachs, an artist living in New York with works featured around the world, is also a Spyderco fan. He requested a white Delica in a Combination Edge for his creation of the “Space Program” a full scale reconstruction of man’s first walk on the moon with Tom’s twist. It debuted at the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills, California in September of 2007.
Inspired by Tom’s enthusiasm for white Spydercos, Spyderco has created a collection of some of Spyderco’s classic designs in White. The White Delica, Endura, Dragonfly and Ladybug are available for a short time and in limited quantities."

Yeah, I've got one of the white Dragonflies somewhere, but it sure didn't stay white long.

I think balisongs and zero G would be a great combination. Should be GITD so it is visible in an umbra.

We may have found another candidate for the space knife. Elastic Ceramic! Maybe a Dyad with one LC200N and one ceramic blade?
A multi tool/swiss army knife style knife could be quite handy.

That elastic ceramic might be an interesting choice but is it tough? H1 and LC200N are tough and can stand up to rough use, I think. The elastic ceramic, if it turns out to be tough enough, might be a great space age choice, though.

That’s why I was thinking two blades/multi tool.
