As mentioned in this month's Byte...

I'm a huge fan of Slysz designs and hate to see this one go the way of the Bowie. Hopefully the Techno2 can fill its shoes.

I wonder how much the price will drop

Glad I have one and hopefully will for a long while. My first “expensive” knife ... which has been eclipsed by much more expensive ones since.

Still love that pudgy little thing.

I never loved the Techno but I still want to try the sequel.

I've had a Techno for over 3 years, and it was the first high-end knife and Spyderco that I bought. I loved it from the first time I held it, and it's a common carry for me on "Techno Tuesday" and/or "Framelock Friday" or just because.

That said, I handled the Techno2 at Blade, and it's absolutely fantastic. Lighter, thinner, but still beefy AF. The construction, F&F, and action are all top-notch, and I'll be getting one ASAP.

Same with me but I'm not sure about the sequel, too many other new models coming out that appeal to me. :)

I'm pretty sure she's referring to the Techno getting a price drop from being discontinued, not a price drop to the Techno2. :D

The Techno is a great knife. I really hate myself for selling all three of my Slyszes.

Ok, but even still, wouldn’t the price go up bc it’s more rare? But I dunno too much about how that market works so...

Ok, but even still, wouldn’t the price go up bc it’s more rare? But I dunno too much about how that market works so...

when spydies are first discontinued the price drops until they basically all sell out from retailers then they show back up on the secondary market for double or triple the original MAP price.

also technos arent rare there are tons of them out there, pretty popular model for being a collaboration

true. however, at the time of the discontinued announcement there werent nearly as many bowies available as there are technos

A good price drop might tempt me into buying one.

There are some on the ebay sale where you could make an offer and get 20% off.

In the Spyderco Byte, it says that Spyderco has depleted their inventory of the Techno. So I wouldn't expect any discounts at retailers since the discount typically originates at Spyderco when they are over stocked.
