Manix Backlock Sprint poll
Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
Manix Backlock?????
Well LC200N in a Lime/Neon green please.
A sprint salt version would be awesome! And green is so much better than yellow :)

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
I'm on board with a salt version. I guarantee it will happen. This model is way too popular to not make one.
What I'm looking for is someone to talk me into another carbon steel model. I already have a 52100. Is this not tough enough?

K390 and m4. I'm loving these steels, and the manix 2 is a home run.

Vanax in lime green would get my dollars.
I was not a fan of the cbbl, I Imagine a backlock would be much better, like my beloved Native 5 and the knife I dream about...

Seriously Sal, why won't they let you make that one after all these years?
Sorry, for getting off topic.
I vote for a Manix 2 BL in satin Vanax(37?) with lime green G10.

4V and K390 would be my top choices. With M390 third.

I, obviously, just want a Manix Salt :D
so I voted LC200N or Vanax (which look awesome and great so far)

I assume they would have to make a new FRN mold (very expensive) in order to turn the Manix 2 Backlock into a Salt model, so the LC200N or Vanax would presumably be a whole new model then, right?
If that it the case, then it is really outside the scope of this poll and conversation since it would be a brand new Salt model and not technically a sprint run of the existing G10 Manix 2 Backlock. The Native 5 Salt in LC200N is my #1 most anticipated release and I would 1,000,000% be a buyer of a Manix 2 Backlock LW Salt in Yellow FRN/FRCP with Vanax or LC200N, but I believe the intent of this specific poll was to pick the first sprint run of the G10 Manix 2 Backlock. Maybe we should keep this thread focused on the G10 Manix 2 Backlock sprint and start a new poll/thread to try to push for a Manix 2 Backlock LW Salt in Vanax or LC200N? I think those are two separate discussions and I REAAALLLYYY want to see both (Salt and Sprint) of these knives get made. Thoughts???
So that said, since it looks like there is a good possibility that the Shaman sprint is going to be in Cruwear, my preference for the G10 Manix 2 Backlock sprint would be 3V or 4V, as I think that this is one of the best models out there to showcase these great steels in a big beefy folder. I really think there are a lot of people outside of this forum who would go crazy for a big 3V or 4V folder like this. If 3V or 4V is not a possibility, then Cruwear would definitely be my choice for this sprint and I would buy at least one for sure.
My one nitpick/suggestion/request for this Sprint would be to go back to using the standard coarser textured G10 that is used on most other models rather than the fine textured or smooth G10 that was used for the first release of the G10 Manix 2 Backlock. The Gray G10 from the other Cruwear sprints has grown on me so I say continue with that trend of using the coarse textured Gray G10.

Nope. I have a g10 salt in my pocket right now. We’ve had backlock salts and g10 salts. Making a Manix salt is merely (“merely”) a materials change. No FRN mold needed.steelcity16 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 8:05 am

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
The Autonomy is G10/Salt. Also the Manix back lock is linerless so there's less metal to make rust proof. It's really an ideal model for a Salt version.

Yeah, good point. A Caribbean I assume? I just assumed it would be a companion to the Native Salt and be in FRN/FRCP. Also, I would expect it to be a production knife and not a sprint, so still a separate conversation. Like I said, I would love to see both a Salt (FRN, FRCP, G10, ...Vanax or LC200N...whatever) and a new sprint (3V/4V/Cruwear), and I would buy both!

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
I REALLY want to try the Manix Backlock in Cruwear. I'm hoping this gets made. Pretty sure with Cruwear's popularity that this would be an easy sell out in Sprint run format. I'm cool if they stay with the gray G10 that they have done with the previous Cruwear sprints.

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
i would like the backlock manix to be slimmer in the pocket. i don't understand why they would change the (almost) perfect ergonomics by making it so thick. if the manix backlock was the same thickness as the rest of the manix lineup, i'd have one for sure, especially if it came in stonewashed lc200n.

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
I was here thinking -- what we really need to see for a steel in the backlock manix is PM A11 !! The recent mention of that mule has me thinking about it again. Yes, I know it is much the same as K390, but hey, why not something totally new. And I thought that A11 mule was something very special. Still is.
But don't change a thing about the knife. I have the S30V and adore it. What a bruiser! Feels fine in my pocket. Like someone said, it isn't necessarily supposed to be comfortable, but comforting. Yet I find it plenty comfortable.
More Manix backlocks for sure.

Man, a full salt G10 Manix Backlock would be amazing. Especially in H1 Serrated (if theu did the autonomy in H1 in Golden does that mean it is an option for other models?) and LC200N PE. Throw on some translucent day glow yellow g10 and DLC coat the blades and hardware and boom!! :)

Well the Autonomy is made in Golden and is H1 so it would seem so.

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
I will be surprised if we do not see an M2 BL next year. It is a beast but a very practical knife. It can be tactical or field or general duty. It should also make a decent skinner with that constant curve.

I choose 52100 and LC200N.. Why? One super stainless and one super not stainless
Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
Fantastic idea.
burnt orange manix... backlock... I almost don't care about the steel at that point but I voted Cruwear.
