I doubled up on the M4 jade G10 black blade so I can dye the G10 blood red.

Anyone notice that the black handle s30v Para 3 (C223GPBK) isn't available from Spyderco anymore?
Can you find it and can it cut?

My plan is to swap the scales from the Rex45...once it's released, and have the orange with all black hardware and blade. Then RIT dye the natural scales red with the Rex45 steel. Frankenstein Para 3's that will be amazing!! :)

Like several models, they're listed as "Out of Stock" not "Discontinued". Spyderco's production capacity in Golden isn't unlimited. My guess is they just need to fit them into the production schedule and make another run.

Sorry, I meant the C223GP standard model.

The C223G models are still there and appear to be available...

Just got mine today. I dyed the scales purple. It's got great action and has a cool look to it. Color me happy.

Nice! Wasted no time modifying that. Is it difficult getting that stop pin out of there when removing the scales?

Dang I may have to try that. I just don’t love the natural/jade scales. CF would be better!!!

I did have a lot of trouble with the lanyard tube. I just left the metal frame on the scales and dunked both scales, frames, and tube all at once. I thought I would have had problems with it being uneven or weird, but it's perfect. It saved a lot of time, and my lanyard tube is perfect because I didn't need to bend or scratch it.

I like that color. Share the details on your dyeing process. :) I tried dyeing my non DLC version purple but it didn't turn out as nice as yours. I'll post pics when I get time. I can still see a hint of green on mine. I can't see any green on yours.

The stop pin is no problem at all. The Lanyard (pin?) on the other hand is a real PITA. lol

I used 2/3rds blue Dymore and the 1/3rd racing red dymore. I didn't just use the purple dymore. I don't know if that makes a difference, but it's what I did. Clean the knife off as much as you can. I was worried about issues since I didn't remove the lanyard hole, but I think making sure it was clean was more important. I dunked it in the boiling dye for only about 15 seconds, making sure to swish it around while it was in the pot. Then I dunked it into clean water right after, again swishing and cleaning it. I air dried it after a paper towel wipe down. I wanted to make sure it was dry under the metal frame. It turned out well I think.
