Well maybe I should call it an Endurahawk, it says so on the handle! Well sort of.

It´s my first hawk of any sort...and I like it! A bit stiff to open at first, had to apply a little tuff glide. so far, I must say...it´s hawk-a-licious!

Why do I have the feeling it won't be your last hawkbill either?

congrats on the purchase.

well now that we know that you've got an "endurahawk". Tell us about it. Currently the only hawk bill I've got is a G-10 Harpy SE. Bu t anywho...what kind of things are you cutting. how is the edge holding up. do you think the tip is strong enough for EDC? tell tell tell.

thanks

Allen E Treat: "Are you gonna bark all day little doggie, or are you gonna bite?" (you should check out the 10th anniversary edition of reservoir dogs, lots of extra stuff, I highly recommend it!)

Well I´ve cut up some cardboard just for the fun of it, and I´m pretty amazed with these serrations. They don´t just grab and tear, rather they seem to grab and cut. It´s difficult to describe but I definitely feel a difference with the serrations in this blade, hardly any of the ´drag´I expected in a hawkbill shape.

The tip at the very end seems thin, but not thinner than the factory tip on my Delica. I wanted a ´utility´ hawk (is it ok to refer to it as a hawk?, I´m new at this ok ;-) ) with a sturdier tip than the Civilian/Matriarch designs. And the blade seems no more fragile than say my Military, tip included, so I don´t expect any tip breaking simply by cutting cardoard and such.

I got it primarily for fun, and...mission accomplished! Maybe I´ll get a Merlin, something I could carry around and use more regularly. This hawkbill thing ain´t half bad ;-)

NOW you're talking!! I love the SpyderHawk, and keep finding more reasons to like it with each passing month. The Merlin/Harpy is more sheeple-oriented, but the Endura handle just fits my hand better. Hope you continue to enjoy your Hawk!

Brian,

I see we're getting more members in the "choir". Finally replaced my trusty plastic clip Merlin with a Spyderhawk on my whitewater PFD. Rock 'n Roll!!

You know it, Mike! This thing will sell itself once discriminating folks have a chance to hold it (or better yet, actually use one to cut stuff).

Though I admit I am not overly experienced - my only other hawkbill is a G-10 Harpy - I will still definitively state that this is the "Mother of all Hawkbills" <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
