Hello all <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Perhaps its little comic situation now,and i dont doubt, that all boys here in forum will in the laugh, but i dont know what i have do now ...

Today afternoon i go by street and i see in one pawnshop, in shop-window box Spyderco with low price, written to box (perhaps 20 usd),so i would go inside and i ask what its. Some older man inside shop said me,"its some folder knife..",and he show me Spyderco box from shop-window. I take knife from the box, i saw lettering Meerkat on the grip, and i open knife, so super, knife is absolute new, in box, made in Seki, AUS steel,i said, supersuper!, and i bought immediately !

So here ok.

After, when i finish purchase,i try find something, for knife close, some lock or so..nothing!

After 15 minutes manipulation in the pawnshop (this older man dont know, how close this knife..he manipulate with this also, but unsuccessfuly..), so i gave open knife to my handbag and i would go away..all afternoon im going in the city with open knife in my handbag...

Now im back home and i study now knife under strong lamp and i cant find something, some lock or so, i look to knife and i see nothing also, inside...,so shortly and simply, I CANT CLOSE THIS KNIFE !

What its **** !!!!

Perhaps im moron, but here is nothing, lock or so, so knife i have still open at the table ...

I press all,and from my desperation i press clip also <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>-- nothing..

I switch on computer now and i ask, here in forum, what i have DO WITH THIS, GOD ...

I hope i have not now knife with fix blade <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Uf... perhaps totally locked forever <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

X-Files ....

BTW: This knife is really super, yeee, but,ehm.. i cant close...

ok, confused the best of us when it came out.

holding edge down(obviosuly open) for easy ref....

the lock release is on the back left end(where it says "meerkat&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. place your thumb over the bug icon, and press down towards the point on the handle. This will release the blade.

I love giving it to engineers and watch them try.

I love carrying my 'kat b/c it is so easy to open and close. By operating the lock, you can swing the blade open by inertia alone. I carry mine in my back left pocket...

Simona;
You have beauty, & brains(smarts). All we men now need to know is about your cooking!!!<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> And that <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>"other thing"<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>, and every <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>man in the EU will be bugging you for a date!!!!
There will be a line of men at your door with roses and<img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>s attached to the roses!!!<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

BIG-TARGET>>>>>>>>>"The Matrix is a system Neo. That system is our enemy. And when you're inside, and look around, what do you see...businessmen...teachers...lawyers...carpenters...the very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured-so hopelessly dependent on the system-that they will fight to protect it."---Morpheus("The Matrix")

Don't feel bad, I believe Spyderco even made an advertisement display-stand, with a locked Meerkat mounted on it, so that people could try to close (unlock) for in a store. I'll try to dig up the picture of it.
I handled one once, felt great, but very similair to my Navigator.

Enjoy it!

Naw, don't feel too bad, Simona. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I know I've had my share of embarassing situations related to knives, etc.<img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

As far as winning an award for Moron of the Month, I'm sorry to say that it is already taken...by Yours Truly. (<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>) Yeah...that little incident of shutting the Harpy on my finger ranks right up there with some of the dumber things I've pulled off in my life.

Peace out, and enjoy the Meerkat!

Barefoot_Simona,

Before the Meerkat, Sal showed me the knife. After making a fool of myself for a couple of minutes, Sal blew on the back end of the still open knife and closed the blade.

The "phantom" lock is a great conversation piece. As you slide the handles apart, blow and it will appear that you are blowing the knife closed.

It's great theater and your friend wil still not be able to close the knife.

One way or the other, you pay for your tools!

VW,

YEOUCH! That sure musta' hurt like crazy.<img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> (The wound with the Milie, that is.) I don't know for sure yet, but I still might have ya beat because the doctors tend to think that the half inch wound from the SE edge of the Harpy may have caused some damage to my index joint. (Waiting for the x-rays). Soooo, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Yeah, but mine was about a half-inch too.<img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Peace,

Michael
