Quality Issues

As a long time Spyderco user I have always thought of the company as being the best around, however the last three Spydies I have bought have not stood up to the usual standard. I have had two of the New model Delicas and one of the new model Enduras fail me. Somebody please tell me this is not the norm. The Delica and Endura have always been my favorites.

When you say "fail" what do you mean? Did the lock fail? Is there something wrong with the blades themselves? Can you give us some specifics? I am sure the folks here want to know.

The tip broke on one of the Delicas. The other Delica had several teeth break off. Both of them had the clip twist out of postion. All within a week. The Endura has had several chips in the blade. None of the knives were used for anything more than small daily cutting.

Hi MrParker. We'd love to get them back from you for analysis.

We've been working on the clip seat (we've already made two changes) and we're still learning about ATS-55 heat treat (new steels always present their glitches).

It is always "fun" to be the first company to intro a new steel to the market (We introduced CPM-440V, VG-10 and ATS-55), but the "missionary work" is just that.

We'll be happy to replace your "affected" pieces with new ones.
