Are there plans for a Seconds Sale in mainland Europe? Or is this too difficult, customs-wise? I sure would take a few hundred km roadtrip say to Amsterdam or so....

Spydiechef, please my brethren. :)
The first time I saw a Spyderco was the early 90s at a knife shop in a mall. I can still see the SpydieHoles through that glass display cabinet. My parents wouldn't buy any of them for me... so now I buy them all. :spyder:

Anyone local wanna lend me a camp chair? Planning on showing up in the wee hours of the morning. Hoping weather is mild, I'll have limited gear as I'm flying.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

If you aren't able to borrow one, I was able to find an "insulated" camp chair at one of the Walmart's around Denver for $25, a few days before the sale last year. For me it felt worth it for the night!

Is it recommended to go early? I’ve heard they bring out throughout the day but do they usually stack a lot of the good ones for the guys who were there early?

There's usually the highest concentration of good stuff early on (I've been in the first 10 people both times I've gone), but I've also come back at the end of the day, about an hour before it's over, and found some awesome knives they put out later on (First year was a blue, fluted Ti Military. Last year it was a Slysz Bowie.). There were other good ones, but those were just the ones I ended up buying at the very end of the day.

Are you guys really lined up already? Impressed!

I was there today around 4:30 just to stop into SFO. Will be back tomorrow afternoon though ;) Got to pick up an umbrella somewhere... but it looks like the rain might not actually happen. Fingers crossed!

Well, a third guy showed up for a few minutes, but he has to pick up his brother that came in from Orange County today. He said they'd probably be back around midnight tonight.

I seriously thought I'd be early enough to be first this time (I think last year the first guys showed up at 4 or 5 am on Friday), but alas, I was defeated again and have to settle for second. I guess I shouldn't have stopped at Subway to eat.

See you tomorrow!

I was going to go down tonight, but seeing as others are there, I'll stick with the usual.

Nah, have fun though and I'll see you tomorrow. I just don't quite feel like spending an extra night to be a little closer...I remember that #1 got something last year, though, so that was the main motivation. :p

I'll be there in the wee hours of the night, weather depending. Don't have the gear for a long camp out.

Question for those of you who have been before. Is this something I can show up to later in the day and casually check out? Or is this a crazy event with a giant line to get in? I'd love to stop by and see if they have any cool stuff, but not if it means waiting in line for an hour(s).

From my experience last year, it was fairly busy in the morning and there was a line out the door until around noon, iirc. Though, I ended up coming back to the sale around 2 pm and was able to walk back in and browse without waiting.

Thanks for the info! Looks like I'll be swinging by later in the day then.
