This would have to be my choice. Although the M4 one is a tough contender...

Mine would be the Military, specifically the 52100 last 6 months or so.

M4 Military, nothing else comes close in carry time.
The new Yo2 is getting a lot of carry too, but it will never catch up as long as the M4 Mili lives in my at-home chore pants pocket.

The Military did the vast majority of my "pocket time" during the first 8 months of 2017>> that is my M390 Military model which I've been heavily relying upon for a few months now and it has not let me down at all.
I do have a sidekick EDC folder that I consider almost as necessary and that is my vintage, stainless handled, ATS-55 RESCUE model which is built like an Army tank and performs without failure. Those two together have made my year 2017 much easier. Oh I have other blades I rotate but those have been the main two thus far.

Do you have the plain edge version too? How do find the serrated performs in regular EDC tasks? I have the plain wharnie but I've always been interested in getting the serrated one too.

I keep my spyderedge stupid sharp and it performs flawless. From my experience, a properly sharpened spyderedge can do things a plain edge does but not the other way around. My serrated wharnie Delica has a terrific cutting power if needed but I usually use it for daily mundane tasks and it cuts like a laser.Clean cuts no worries

Even though the Manix2 LW might have to be my overall vote, it's been the PM2 in 2017

Speaking of the plain edge Wharncliffe Delica, I'd say that
it has been my favorite "all around" folder so far this year. Has been with me through miles of hiking in Colorado and all over New England, as well as at work regularly.

I will say this much, and anyone who pays attention to my nonsense on this forum, you can believe this....I don't own this knife, but I know enough to confidently say it's one of the best SE knives on the market right now, for 2 reasons: 1) It's a wharnie, which just rocks in SE, and 2) It's FFG, so for every reason you love and prefer FFG for your PE knives, those reasons also apply to SE, it will slice better and be a more aggressively cutting knife compared to something like the Salt that has a thicker blade grind and thicker blade behind the serrations. Slicing efficiency is the same regardless of the edge type. This is also why the Caribbeans are going to be so awesome...SE really shines on tall FFG blades.

When I am unsure what knife I will need, the Cru-wear Military is the knife I need.

Great topic Marius!!
I have some of the coolest and most amazing Spydies!
The one that comes with me to work, HVAC, and the one that does the most difficult and filthy cutting chores.......it has NEVER let me down.......is my Pac Salt!
The best $80 I ever spent!
I call it my pocket chain saw! No exaggeration. Super cool knife!

for my use the PM2 and Manix 2 are at the top of the list and about equal. My preferred steel for the PM2 is M4, My preferred steel for the Manix 2 is Cruwear.
