I wanted to get some feedback on the PITS folder from everyone. It is one of my favorite and most carried spyderco knives and I just love the way it carries, feels in hand, the blade shape and its overall look!
The reason for this post is that I was watching one of KeithKevinKens videos on spyderco knives and when on the topic of the PITS... https://youtu.be/OeYsIfFnHA8 (15:40 into the video) he describes it as being one of the strongest slipjoint knives he owns, having a hard time closing it with one hand. In my case, I have no problem closing the knife with one hand, and really enjoy the ease of operation. I can spyderflick the knife open, use it to perform its cutting task and then close using slightly more than gentle thumb pressure on the spine above the spyderhole...
I would love to hear others experience with their PITS, but personally, I like that it does not require two hands to close.
Best,
Keith

Re: Spyderco P.I.T.S.
Love my PITS, it's a great design with a really clever lock bar. I especially like the satin finish on the blade, it's unlike any other spyderco I have. In general, I carry locking blades but because I'm in NYC, when I know I'll be taking public transport I usually go for the PITS. I have to agree that closing one handed using the spyderhole is a little stiff but what I do is just push the spine of the blade against my pant leg to close it anyway. I find it difficult to flick open without really putting a lot of force into it but it's never bothered me and I haven't tried adjusting the pivot or anything. I'm hoping sal uses some of that leftover k390 in Maniago on a sprint run, maybe with a tumbled non anodized finish on the scales.
