Isn't it time for new sprints of Delica & Endura?

#1

Post by archangel »

I think it is! :)

From what I've seen on spydiewiki, leaving damascus VG10 aside, last sprint with different steel was Hap40 in 2015. Before that one was Super Blue in 2013.

It's 2017 now - what will it be?

Create a dilemma for collectors.
FRN Blade, VG-10 Handle.

I'd probably still have to go to the secondary market to get one.

Is this a trick question? Of course it is time for another sprint of the Stretch and Delica!

Why Stretch over Endura? I ask because I'm in market for a larger blade knife for a friend.

I have Delica (mrs has it now); love it. Figured Endura would be perfect.

Yeahyeahyeah... what steel??

I don't think it's going to be LC200N, this is used in Salt series.

What else?

Just personal preference. Many people like the Endura. I find the ergos on the Stretch to be perfect for my hands which is why I prefer it.

Something FRN for me please. The G10 one I have feels heavy and not Delica-like. It's very nice. I just like FRN.

... and we still have the HAP 40 Delica wharnie to go.
- best wishes, Jazz.

I'm with you on the FRN, I also have the G10 version but it's not the same feeling.

I haven't bought a Delica since I joined this forum so I'd probably pass unless it's something really special like White steel at a high hardness and not laminated.

I'm with Jazz - definitely prefer FRN, please. I'm psyched for a HAP40 Wharnie sprint, but Super Gold in Goldenrod FRN would be swell also...

Stone wash the Titanium scales off the current Ti - Damascus Delica and team them up with any steel that isnt VG10 , solid Hap40 would be my ultimate .

I thought you were mocking me when some mentioned Super Gold - but this really exists, as I've just learned!

Question: is Maxamet an american steel? If :spyder: would bring this to Japan, that would be nice...

Spyderco was supposed to bring out a Super Gold G10 Delica a couple of years back, but they had trouble getting the steel, for some reason. So, they punted. They brought out the HAP40 and it was a big hit. We are hoping they will try, again.

They must have some K390 in Japan for the Police 4? I'd take a Delica in that flavor. But I'd be happy with most sprint options, FRN would be good.
