#1

Post by SuckSqueezeBangBlow »

I think I need one. :)

Perhaps some photos could help me decide which one it will be.

Don't remember seeing much song and dance about the g10 n5 s110v?

Come on :spyder: brothers, help me out!

That's a tough call! I don't have the N5 G10 S110V but I do have a couple of other G10 N5's. The G10 Natives are very solid knives but, as much as I like them, I actually prefer the LW's. I really like the Mantra (1) and I think I'd have to choose it over the Native 5 G10 S110V. You can't go wrong with either so...flip a coin!

I love my Natives5, but not crazy about the color of S110V G10. May be you can chase one of the 2013 Forum knives. I saw them at BF exchange at quite good price, not much more than regular G10 S110V. I also love navy blue LW variant.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

Native 5 in s110v. S110v has good stainless and wear resistance, takes some patients to put an edge on it, but it stays there for good long while once you do. I like the sturdiness of the liners and G-10 (I really like the color too), but the linerless FRN should not be ignored, you dont realize how cool lightweight is until you carry it for a while and try to go back to heavy knives.

I have an N5 LW black combo blade and it's great but looks very tactical. I feel the blurple is friendlier but I also don't have M4 in anything or any flippers.
I do have a Slysz Bowie and Techno so the titanium frame locks are covered.

Mmm might have to get a coin out!

Well maybe it helps if you think of the mantra as a delica on steroids.
Same excellent ergos, titanium handles, wire deep carry clip... The flipper and the frame lock are just and addition.

So then it is just a matter of deciding between a native 5 and a delica.
I like the s110v n5 but the handle never clicked with me and the g10 was very abrasive for the pocket imho.

I ended up pulling the trigger on the Native.

I had a N5 LW plain Edge and sold it, and regret it.

I have a Manix 2 g10 s110v but haven't really used it, it has lovely ergos but the N5 is perfect size for me.

Mantra should appeal more, but I did handle one at the Sydney knife show this year and it didn't do it for me. I have a titanium Damascus delica which is my Sunday knife anyhow.

I'll post pics of the g10 N5 s110v when it arrives
