Takata Airbag Recall - Have Any Been Replaced Yet?
My 2010 GLK350 is among the tens of millions of cars involved and all I've gotten so far is a letter from MBUSA acknowledging the problem and saying they'll let me know when there's a solution. Given that there's at least the outside chance of serious injury if the defective airbag deploys, and the broad range of vehicles involved, I'm just curious if anyone else here has actually had theirs replaced. Assuming no one has, next question would be whether any manufacturer has offered to remove/disable the airbags until they can be replaced. Perhaps it's because I've been driving for over 50 years and airbags have only been mandatory for less than 20, but I'd rather have no airbag than a potentially dangerous one.

I have received a Final Solution notice from Toyota on the airbag in my Yaris, and I'm in the second group, so I'd guess a bunch of them have already been done. Unfortunately, the nearest dealership is 70 miles away, so I'll have to take a vacation day to get mine done.

My truck is on the recall list. Dodge sends me a letter every few months letting me know that they still haven't met the demand for airbags and that mine is still not available. They claim that they will let me know when they finally have one that fits my truck but at this point when that will be is still anybodies guess.

It appears they are accelerating the airbag replacement. Here is an update from last month:
http://www.consumerreports.org/car-safe ... ag-recall/
While you can have the airbag disabled or even removed it wouldn't be advisable. Even Takata airbags have saved countless more lives than they have taken.
"The problem was “allegedly” known to Takata in 2004, and since then, there has been 10 deaths and over 100 injuries in the US. That means about 10 defective Takata airbags will explode and injure/kill someone every year.
On the other hand, the US NHTSA reports that airbags save an average of 2,200 lives in the United States every year. Takata has a 22% market share, so that means Takata airbags save an average of 484 lives in the US every year.
In other words, even if your airbag has a potentially defective Takata ammonium nitrate inflator, it is 48X more likely to SAVE YOUR LIFE*, than to kill or injure you."

I recently got a letter from Subaru telling me that my airbag needs replacing (conveniently, only the passenger side one)
I know of a few Subaru owners on the Facebook groups i am a member of who have had theirs replaced - but no-one i have actually met face to face

I've got a letter to bring in my Subaru for a replacement, just haven't made an appointment for it yet. I think they are slowly replacing them finally.

I have notices for both my Prius and Tacoma but was told at my last service in December that solutions were still a ways off.
