Greetings all,

I just picked up my Native II on Friday and I AM IN LOVE11...again...(I hope my Dragonfly does not get jealous). I'm sure every single thing I love about this knife has been said by other Native owners but suffice to say, I am very pleased with this piece. Thanks to Sal and all at Spyderco; you have produced a truly exceptional knife. Now here's the question...When I first inspected the Native at the Dealer I noticed that the tips on the spyderedge of my Native are considerably more rounded than those on my Dragonfly. Is this normal? If not, how might I bring them to the same level as the serrations on the Dragonfly? I also treated myself to a 204 Sharpmaker and am hoping that I might be able to use the Sharpmaker to accomplish this. Here's where I really need advice, I do not have much esperience sharpening knives, should I go ahead and try sharpening the serrations on my own or would it be wiser to send it to the factory? Please understand that this is NOT a complaint. In the few days I have had my Native it has performed every cutting task I have needed and it still slices through paper like soft butter(both the plain and serrated portions of the blade do this). The different angles of the tips on my two knives just has me curious if there's a way to enhace the performance of this already wonderful knife. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mac. Serrrations differ from one to another by a small amount because there is always wheel wear and the wheels are contantly dressed.

I don't think I would sharpen the blade until it needs it.

Thanks for the reply Sal; sounds good to me. Although I gotta say, I'm running out of stuff to sharpen with the 204. I am having way too much fun, what a great tool! Everyone should have one in their home.
