Which Spyderco for the US President?

#1

Post by SpyderEdgeForever »

Is it true what I heard, that when a new President is elected, Spyderco sends a complimentary knife as a gift? Will this be done this time, just wondering, and, if yes, what knife do you think he likes best of all, if he could pick one from the entire current product catalog?

Certainly nothing from the Sage series.

Maybe a Civilian since he's never engaged in any form of government service or duty?

Or a Dice, because the country just rolled it with our future.

Or something from the Salt series?

Gotta concur here with my learned colleague: State your source.
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

I've never heard this before but I'm willing to play along. I think that President-elect Trump would really appreciate either an anniversary Native or the fluted titanium Native, or maybe one of the Ti Chaparrals. Anything classy!

By the way, if this is true, then that is very cool of Spyderco. :spyder:

I know quite a few people who need something from the Salt series, ya know, because they're so salty about the results.

But, per Spyderco guidelines, let's not make this a political debate.

Former President Bush was given a WTC Rescue (serial #911), but I don't think it's a tradition for Spyderco to gift new presidents with a knife.

edit: I also seem to recall that President Obama was gifted a knife by Spyderco (a fluted Ti Native?) while visiting businesses in the Denver area, but I couldn't find any posts verifying that memory.

This please. This forum is the one place I have right now where I won't have to hear about the election. And I'm not even American :o

If it's true...then a WTC D'Allara would be appropriate since he's a Nuuu Yawrkaah... ;)

Keep it neutral guys and focus on blades...

But just in case...in before the LOCK!

Didn't some guy try to deliver an Endura to Obama? I think he was tackled by secret service eventually. Apparently you're not supposed to sneak into the whitehouse.

Just playing along here, Kurt Cobain is dead, Sting would need a Slipit, maybe a UKPK, and Pres-Elect maybe a Dog Tag, so he could make believe he was in the military.

"Whatever knife it is, it shouldn't be too big. We know that the size of the President-elect's hands should limit the choices to smaller knives. :D "

So let's see. It's OK to throw out little digs as long as your a Liberal or don't like the President elect. Really tired of this double standard everywhere. What I don't get is when all the Libs whine about their rights taken away...we can only carry a 1/2 inch blade legally, blah, blah, blah and no autos...but you still vote for the dipsticks that take your rights away. Quite frankly you have no idea how lucky we are that Trump and the adults will be running the country. Except of course for those who live in Liberal states that will continue to push through asinine gun and knife laws.

A little off topic but if the POTUS Elect does decide to carry a knife then he should take some advice from former President Johnson, don't want it falling out of his pants pocket by accident :D
