Just wanted to know what you cut with all your razor sharp knives, except the hair on your skin <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

From my side it is:

- weed in the garden

- hoses and cables in my car

- at carpet work in our house

- opening letters

- stick for my dog

Just every day stuff, nothing special.

Anybody with more exotic things?

...bad boys... LOL! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I use my knives to:

1. Open boxes at work (a lot of office material and binders)
2. Open envelopes
3. Cut fruit
4. Cut cable or rope
5. Cut bottle sealers
Etc.

Mainly office work to get all those supplies out and a lot, a lot of envelopes. Great for yo-yo string as well. <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Often: Cheese, bread, fruit, meat (for bbq or meal), opening food bags, envelopes.
Sometimes: Rope, string, carving a spoon while camping, carving.
Rare: Cut seatbelt to free someone once, and just for jogging safety from mtn. lions up here in the Sierras.

As we're on this topic and seeing I use my knife often for food, I dislike it when my knife vaccums itself to moving slowly through foods like cheese. Maybe in some new folders anti-vaccum grooves could be cut in the blade sides so air can get down to the cutting edge.

pretty much you name it, and I use it...

work:collapsing boxes(double and triple wall), cutting packing straps, opening bags, making my food(the work knives are ALWAYS dull), cutting the hose on the sink...

home: food, paper, rope, wire, drywall(ehh, yah...), envelopes/packages...

and a number of other things have been cut that shouldn't have been. mainly my fingers.

Everything that needs cutting, and some that don't. Most often I cut envelopes, plastic wrappers, tape, boxes, string and rope, and recently I used my <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> to cut styrofoam insulation. I even prefer to cut wrapping paper with a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> instead of a pair of scissors.

I cut anything except copper wire. I also carry a small Swiss Army which I actually use as much as the Spyderco. Trim my mustache, use it as a screwdriver, pull splinters with the tweezer etc.

I have a friend of mine ask me a very similar question. He asked my why I carry a pocket knife. My reply was "I normally cut everything that you try to do with your car key!" He doesn't ask anymore questions about why I carry a pocket knife!
