A question for those who have experience with both.Which one do you recommend for edc: lightweight urban in N690 or lightweight leafshape blade UKPK in CTS-BD1 ?

My older Gin1 UKPK CE has a much weaker back spring than my (only) BB Urban LW. Sometimes when I choke up, the blade moves and I get the teeth into my thumb!

For that reason alone, for me the Urban now takes 1st place.

Ditto ^^. Weak backsprings are like wet, Sandy underwear to me! Pingo is my best FRN back spring and Spy DK has been solid on all models I have handled

I prefer the UKPK for its size and blade length.

I prefer the URBAN's N690Co steel to UKPK's BD1 steel, but that could be because I don't have enough experience with BD1.

Now that the UKPK has received an update to the spring, I'd say the two knives "lockup" is on par with each other in terms of closing resistance.

Well they're made in Golden, so I don't see why not... but I guess we should probably wait on official confirmation. :D

The thread is about the UKPK light weight so that means FRN I'm guessing.

Thank you Sal, this is a huge deal!

That cheap FRN they use on the LW UKPK ? I hope not.Let's pray for a blue G10 or at least for a Delica like FRN.

Sorry Marius, It will be our FRN model. The G-10 versions were very expensive and sales suffered. The FRN model lets you experience the steel in a light, easy EDC, especically for those in the UK.

I love the G10 UKPK's Sal but I also love the pattern on the FRN slipit knives so I'm very happy. They're so light weight and affordable. I hope you have no plans to change the pattern to bidirectional like the delica. Thanks again!
