Spyderco Display Case?

I asked this on Bladeforums too, but this might be a better place for it. My question was: Is it possible to buy a Spyderco display case like the ones they have in stores? Big, from transparent plastic, with multiple cuts that form shelved to place knives on. I saw one on EBay last year, but couldn't get it.

Any ideas?

Maybe a special order from Spyderco?

I am only asking because I seem to be running out of places to put all the Spydies I already have, and I plan on more...

Also, is it bad for the knife/lock if it stays open for a long time? I don't imagine so, since that puts less strain on the lock/spring, and theoretically could even be beneficial in the long run. Or am I way off here?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Vess-

I saw one on e-bay and it went for about 25 bucks. It looked real cool. The only reason I didn't bid on it is because I just have one spyderco knife.

Anyway good question-happy hunting

Yep, I saw that one too, but it was "will ship to US only" type of thing. I only saw one available to Canada in the past year or so, and if I recall it went for $60+.

It may be a long wait until the next one shows up on EBay, that's why I am trying to find one someplace else. I have a dozen Spydies now, and no way to display them...

Vess ~ Have you considered 'Spydiepaks' here at the Spyderco Online shop They come in 16 or 32 pocket versions.

Ken,

You need to refocus them priorities, my short ed brother! Buy the display case with thelofty intention to fill it to the brim!!

Yep, I am now giving serious consideration to SpydiePacks, and maybe some of those little crystal stands for individual knives too.

The display case would be so much easier... But I guess a 24-pack of little stands and a nice glass-front closet from Home Depot will be enough.

Hmmm... I wonder if I can convince my local Spydie dealer to part with his display stand... Nah, just kiddin'

Vess, I purchased two older unused in the original Spyderco box Spyderco display cases about a year ago on ebay from "knife-yenta", I paid about $90.00 each with s&h. I believe he has a store in NY and he is always selling knives on ebay. You might want to contact him and see if he has anything.

Hey! Thanks! I will try that. I have bought something from him on EBay in the past I believe, but never looked at his online store.

Yep.

Saw it too this morning. The question now is money! lol I've gone and ordered yet another Spydie already... Hopefully I'll still be able to try and bid on this thing before it's gone.
