Is a "final model" of the old Worker still being planned for 2001? If so, what features will it have? Any idea as to production numbers and release date?

I would like to see something similar to the Evolution Set; with rubber inlay ss scales and plain edge blade like the first models.

Thanks!

Hi Stellite. The "Final Worker" is still in the works. Almite handle with some engraving as to the models life (1981 - 2001) or something similar. All are going to be plain edge. I believe we're making a total of 2,000 pcs. Each in a gift box with a small explanation of the significance of the model.

Sign me up! The worker is one of my all time favorite Spyderco models. Very sad to see it go.

This is rumor but supposedly a letter was just sent to the collectors that contained a list of upcoming knives they wish to purchase and the "final worker" was on it. When I get my letter I will confirm this.

Jey, you are correct, NO RUMOR! Kelly said that a letter is on the way and that there are 17 variations that will be coming out between now & the end of April! WOW!!! There goes the savings........

Tom, you call Kelly at Spyderco and tell her you want to be in the Collector Club. 1 (800) 525-7770 ext. 219. Kelly will tell you what numbers are available! Hope this helps, Ron.....

Tom,

Just some more info about the Collector's Club, in case you haven't come across it before. The first 200 of each new model are reserved for collectors, each of whom have their own number. Once you get a number you have to buy at least one of every model as the are produced. You may also buy variations such as plain edge models since the first knife is usually serrated. The variations have the same number followed by a "V". When you get a number you also have to buy any knives which have been produced since that number was last "owned". I hope this makes sense, if not Kelly can fill you in on the details.

Clay

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.
