EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
If you could only have 1 EDC knife and you had to choose between the following 3 Spyderco folders: The Delica, The Endura and The Stretch, which would you choose?
Don't worry about the steel, just these 3 specific knife designs. The handles in question are FRN, not some higher-end alternative. There is no "other" category on this poll.
If you live in an area with a blade size limit, please vote according to what you would carry if there was NO LIMIT for blade size in your jurisdiction. I want picks for legitimate carry reasons, not because of some bureaucratic necessity.
What is your pick?

For me, it's a very one sided battle
Got my first Stretch around this time of year in 2004 and there's been one in my pocket at least 9 days out of 10 ever since.
Own a couple Enduras, but can't recall ever having one in my pocket when I walked out my door. Back when I was working, I carried my 25th Anniversary Delica a couple times when I wanted something "showy", and my engraved stainless one a few times more than that for the same reason. However, I only rarely have to deal with a 3" blade limit, prefer a knife with a 50/50 choil and one that will fit comfortably at the bottom of my back pocket, so the Stretch has been a easy winner.

Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
Its an interesting question the way it is worded. "If I could only have 1 EDC knife" I would probably choose the Endura for the extra blade length. Since, however, I can have many knives I would normally choose a Delica for EDC, mainly because it just carries so small but is still "big enough" for 95% of my knife chores.

Delica is going to win anyways so what's the purpose of this poll ?! :D

Delica....as it was my first Spydie and my 'touchstone' for the rest.
I wonder if I'd had an Endura to start with I might've voted differently?

Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

I don't like Delica feel in the hand. Native is better. Haven't tried Stretch, so perhaps I'm biased. I have 3 Enduras though :D

Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
If the Delica FFG had the same spine thickness of the Saber but was still FFG it would be the last knife I ever bought. The current FFG is just too thin for me.

Endura.....beastly cutting machine!!
Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
The only one I have handled and own is the Delica .. Sooo.. That's my pick!! :D John :)

Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
Finally someone that agrees with me. We either have a tad too thick or a tad too thin.twinboysdad wrote:If the Delica FFG had the same spine thickness of the Saber but was still FFG it would be the last knife I ever bought. The current FFG is just too thin for me.
Other than that, I'd have to go with the Delica for this poll.
- best wishes, Jazz.
Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
I like the design of the Stretch, but it doesn't fit my hand the way I like, so I suppose one of the other meh choices would have to do ... no real preference there.

Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
I voted Stretch but realistically the Delica can do anything I need an EDC knife to do. That said, this is silly, the Para2 is the EDC king. :)

Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
I say the Stretch. I own or have owned multiples of all three and like them all. I feel sure the Stretch is the least owned knife out of the three. But if more people here voting had one (or more), I bet it would be at the top of this pole for sure, IMO. Of course, it's only one away from being tied with the Delica as I type this.
Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
Stretch, I own more variants of the Delica but I would go for the extra blade length if limited to one.
Re: EDC Battle: Delica vs. Endura vs. Stretch
I'm very happy that my vote pushed the Stretch ahead (it was tied w/ the Endura when I clicked "Stretch")...
-It splits the size between the two. Most of the same edge of the Endura... but not quite as long/potentially unwieldy.
-As a slicer, the Stretch is simply... strangely good. It's one of the few pocket knives I reach for when in the kitchen, for example. (The tomatoes are scared.)
