This check(pick up in 3hrs) will be 230 NET...

the next check(after seeing the schedual for the next 2 weeks) will be about 200 NET.

Gee... that pays my rent and phone... now how am I supposed to eat? Glad I live at home in a basement suite... $200/month pays for utilities and basic food(snacks I have to pay for). Phone is $35, Net is $45... and a car.

Yep, my 'new' resume has a nice big open chunks(Nov 16 01- June 29 02... Aug 20 02 - present) without work... the last month never happened.

If there is a Pepsi plant near you try there. They really arn't bad to work for and the pay is good,at least here it is.I would try for warehouse sales is more pay but alot more hours. If I worked the hours that sales did I would make more than them. Also here we have something called 3rd man that works with 2 account reps, they work the larger bulk stores. The 3rd man is paid by the hour and gets quite a bit of overtime and the work isn't really that hard. Here they start out at 8.00 USD per hour.Forklift opper. start at 10.35 per hour.

Jeff> don't suppose you have any pull in the company? I know we have a couple ones up here(Coke and Pepsi), up in the north end. Wouldn't hurt to mention your name if you have any pull.

Just remember this saying: I was looking for work when I found this Job!

Just keep looking. Keep filling out those applications and check back often. Bug em' until they just give up and hire you.

Don't they have a home improvement center around there like a Home Depot. Good job for a young person.

Don't worry about the resume' so what if it has big empty spaces, your a student and haven't been working that long. Remember it really doesn't have to be a paying job to put on the resume'. Any work at church, scouts and anything that you helped at. mowing lawns, selling newspapers ect. Use references.

Good luck to ya!

Oh no matter what job you have there is never enough money at the end of the month! The more you make the more you spend!
It never ends......

Don't worry about the open spots in the ol' resume. There's a myriad of excuses to fit it:
I had a hard semester @ school...
I spent that camping off the North coast...
I was down with mono for a while...
Busy studying over summer break...
Spent that volunteering for/at (Fill in blank)...
Did odd jobs to pay for car/rent/school...

Pick one. Any one. They'll all work, if you're convincing. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Never underestimate the impossible.

heh, you guys don't really understand how difficult it can be to get work up here, heh, sometimes you get lucky and get a job right off, but you can go dropping off resume's for like 2 or 3 months and not get a call, though thats just some people. Best way to get a job round here is to know someone in a company, even someone low on the food chain so to speak. heh, I work for Papa John's myself, i get minimum wage, 6.65 an hour, but being a driver I get to keep my tips and I get a 5% comission on each run, with that I can get round $12/hour, heh

Best way to get on is to make freinds with one of the workers at the location you want in at and they can get you on.ie.start talking to some delivery men and see what job openings there are. Also go to the location and talk to the main manager, even if there are no jobs open tell him about wanting to make Pepsi your carrer and you would like a chance and you would be willing to start out doing anything and to please contact you at any opening. You know, fill um full of BS.
BTW the benefits at pepsi here in the us are great.
